Kakashi is superior to Kisame in pretty much everything not pertaining to stamina and physical strength, but even those advantages aren't enough to close the gap in raw fire-power here. Kakashi's only real chance is a Genjutsu prior to Kisame releasing the big guns. Once the area is flooded, Kakashi needs his Mangekyo to survive - without it, he gets eaten by sharks.
Wrong. Preta Path absorbs all ninjutsu, regardless of nature affinity. Samehada has canonically absorbed raiton already (not to mention the raiton was conducted by a steel blade.) It makes no difference whether there is water to conduct it or not. Also, Madara was absorbing the lightning water dragon completely fine

and didn't encounter any problems until Gaara's sand came into play. What's more, the scan you posted can be interpreted multple ways and isn't even a ViZ translation. As for the rest, Gaara's sand was used as conductor because Preta path cannot absorb the sand itself. The sand contained water and lightning inside it, and Madara absorbed them ended up paralysing him. The Viz doesn't change anything from the scan I posted. It's repeating what it exactly says. Good lord. These are Mei's actual words, translated by the ViZ team:
"If you don't like the sand, just stop absorbing the jutsu! But then, the lightning water dragon will paralyze you."
Kakashi is not Gaara therefore he can't manipulate sand. Therefore the lightning is easily absorbed by the Kisame/Samehada fusion. It angers me when people are actually this ignorant.
