You guys do know that Naruto Storm Revolutions is releasing September '14, right? :|

OT: Itachi wins mid difficulty. He has powerful Katon and Tsukuyomi, which can potentially be a one hit kill. Worst case scenario there's Amaterasu.

Slap yourself. Right now.

OT: It can go either way. But I'll admit Itachi is likely to win more often then not.

How Kisame would overcome Itachi in a 1v1 battle?

Countering 3T Itachi's Arsenal

Of course, Itachi wouldn't most likely start using the Mangekyō Sharingan right off the bat so Kisame would have to counter his 3T arsenal first and now, let's look at his 3T arsenal;

- Katon
- Utakata [Commonly known as the Finger Genjutsu]
- Dusk Crow Genjutsu
- Sharingan Genjutsu
- Magen Genjutsu [Commonly known as the Demonic Illusion Genjutsu]
- Suiton
- Kuchiyose: Karasu
- Karasu Bunshin
- Bunshin Daibakuha [Commonly known as the Clone Great Explosion]
- Kage Bunshin

I'll start off by countering Itachi's Katon and Suiton affinity. Althought they might be dangerous in some situations, they can be easily countered by someone like Kisame. His Katon would be countered by . As for Itachi's Suiton, .

Itachi's nature affinites are useless here so I'll move on to countering Itachi's Genjutsu such as the Utakata, Dusk Crow Genjutsu, etc. Kisame has a simple way of countering all of these Genjutsu; Fighting Itachi by looking at his feet of course. Kisame is Itachi's partner so he knows how good Itachi is at Genjutsu. He clearly would not look into Itachi's eyes. Even if he does get caught in a Genjutsu, Samehada can simply disrupt his Chakra flow and break him out of it. Samehada is so it shouldn't have trouble breaking Itachi out of a Genjutsu.

Of course, if Kisame wants to make sure that he avoids eye contact with Itachi, he could simply use his Suiton: Bakusui Shōha technique which . After he does so, all he needs to do is go underwater and keep on attacking from there. Since he would be underwater, Itachi won't be capable of making direct eye contact with Kisame.

With his 3T Genjutsu being ineffective against Kisame, his only chance left are his clones. However, Itachi hasn't shown the ability to make more than one or two clones at a time while . Furthermore, these Mizu Bunshin are far more superior to Itachi's Bunshin. Why? Because each of these Bunshin get a copy of Samehada which possesses the same abilities the original Samehada has. Now before someone says how he can't, let me explain. First off, let's take a look at . ''"The body borne of water completely endowed with the user's abilities!" This is the first evidence that implies that the Samehada copy can absorb Chakra just like the original Samehada. The second piece of evidence is that . Furthermore this copy of Samehada has shown to have the exact same ability the original Samehada has such as . And to completely prove this claim, Zabuza shown us that a sword with unique abilites can be copied along with the Mizu Bunshin.

With that being said, the Mizu Bunshin will use their own copy of Samehada to absorb Chakra from Itachi's Bunshin.

Countering the Mangekyō Sharingan

Since a 3T Itachi wouldn't really be capable of taking down Kisame, he'll have to use his Mangekyō Sharingan which can be countered by Kisame, but firstly let's look at what techniques does the Mangekyō Sharingan possess:

- Tsukuyomi
- Amaterasu
- Susano'o
- Totsuka Blade
- Yata Mirror
- Yasaka Magatama

I'll start off by countering Itachi's Tsukuyomi. First of all, keep in mind that Kisame has knowledge on Tsukuyomi so he won't be so stupid to make direct eye contact with Itachi and get caught. However, there is a way for Kisame to counter the Tsukuyomi. Once he sees Itachi activating the Mangekyō Sharingan, the most logical thing to do would be activating the Suiton: Dai Bakusui Shōha . There . Once this happens, Itachi will not be capable of using Tsukuyomi on Kisame anymore due to a simple reason. In his battle against Sasuke, we have seen that Itachi's eye sight was so bad that . Bee said that due to the fact that there was simply too much water. In other words, Itachi who's eye sight is extremely bad, won't be able to make eye contact or keep up with Kisame at all.

Kisame knows not to look into Itachi's eyes

Now, I'll move onto Amaterasu. Oh well I'll let someone else explain this:

With that being said, the only real threat left is Susano'o. How exactly does Kisame counter Susano'o? This will be easy since the Water Dome would already be in play. I must admit that Kisame would be unable to absorb the Susano'o due to the Yata Mirror so he'll simply have to wait until Itachi dies of Chakra exhaustion and that won't be hard at all since . These waves of Sharks will keep on attacking Itachi, making him keep Susano'o up the whole time until he dies of Chakra exhaustion. Now Kisame would have to worry about the Totsuka Blade and the Yasaka Magatama until Itachi runs out of Chakra. However, Kisame can counter both with ease. First of all, it will be hard for Itachi to even hit Kisame if not even impossible due to his bad eye sight, shit ton of waters and a swarm of Sharks from all sides. Basically, it's impossible for Itachi to hit him, but anyways Kisame will easily avoid the Totsuka Blaid with his underwater speed feats. He was even . As for Yasaka Magatama, Kisame will simply absorb it since Samehada was capable of absorbing Bee's V2 cloak.

Kisame wins.
I agree that Itachi's fire style stalemates with Kisame's water style. However, just because Kisame knows Itachi is good at Genjutsu, doesn't mean he won't look at his eyes or get trapped within it. For Itachi, it's literally as simple as using Shunshin no Jutsu to teleport right into Kisame's face and cast Tsukuyomi on him. Physical attacks will be rendered useless on Itachi, because Kisame will end up only attacking a clone that transforms into crow bunshins that cast Genjutsu on Kisame, or Itachi could do it himself. Once in it, Kisame cannot break his Genjutsu. His water dome doesn't absorb chakra.. don't know where Shura's linked information got that from. This is the size of Kisame's water dome and this is the size of Itachi's Amaterasu. See that dome next to the black flames? That's the EXACT same size of Kisame's water dome. It's even similar in structure. The flames on the left are easily the same size if not larger. Itachi can simply burn all of the water until its gone, which, honestly, he probably doesn't even need to use that much due to the fact that once a spot starts to burn in the dome, all the water will rush towards it to extinguish the flames, which will fail, ending up in the flames burning every last drop of the water. During his fight with Sasuke, Itachi's eyesight was only hazy SOMETIMES, not all of the time. If Itachi has killing intent, what's stopping him from hitting him with Amaterasu from the get-go, or nailing Kisame with Tsukuyomi in the beginning (which, by the way, has already been done, loool.) There's NO way Kisame can dodge something that moves that fast. As we all know, Kisame without his water dome is incredibly slow. Itachi controls the water nature too. What's stopping him from controlling the water of the dome himself? Knowing how fast Itachi is, he won't get stuck in the water dome. If Kisame tries to fight with Taijutsu, he'd get curbstomped. Itachi makes hand seals so fast that not even a Sharingan user can see it. Kisame cannot predict his attacks nor respond to the speed at which he makes them. Genjutsu is Kisame's weakness, and Itachi so happens to be pretty much the best Genjutsu user in the show. He was able to be on par with KM Naruto, a feat that is crazy in itself. He has the capability to outrun the dome. Any water attacks launched at Itachi can be blocked by the Susano'o and Yata. Not to mention that Kisame doesn't need to not look at his eyes to be casted under a Genjutsu. Kisame was already defeated and casted under a Genjutsu while Itachi was not even attempting to win. All in all, there's nothing in Kisame's arsenal that can defeat Itachi at this point. And even if he did get trapped in it and for some reason was too lazy to use Amaterasu, what's stopping him from using Izanagi? :)

Kisame wins.
There are a few flaws in that quote.

1. Why was Naruto put in genjutsu when he wasn't looking at Itachi's eyes? Itachi replies saying he can use genjutsu by lifting a finger. Kurenai was capable of putting Kisame in genjutsu, do you really think Itachi isn't either?

2. Itachi knows how destructive Kisame is. He tells Kisame when fighting Asuma not to go overboard because his techs draw attention. If Kisame just looks at his feet, then a crow clone can easily sneak attack him like Itachi's water clone sneak attacks Kakashi. Itachi's speed/reaction is insane. Part 1 Kakashi couldn't even read the hand signs. If it really came down to it then Amaterasu would fry Kisame before he got water pool off. But that isn't necessary, but the option is still there.

3. That quoted person really is underestimating Itachi's taijutsu. Kisame clones > Itachi clones? Pfft, Itachi rapes in the taijutsu department. Who was going toe to toe with KCM Naruto, and yet who got speed blitzed by KCM Naruto? (Kisame, to be fair he was weakened...but he still had energy to create 1000 water sharks).

Kisame wins.
Kisame could take the battle to mid-diff at best. This post was slightly too biased.

-Samehada had a problem absorbing Itachi's katon and was bothered by the heat afterwards. It's not absorbing something like amaterasu, a fire that eats normal fire itself.

-It was stated in that post that Kisame would just look away and avoid Tsukiyomi once he saw Itachi activating his MS, but it's shown that right after Itachi activates his MS, he has the potential to activate Tsukiyomi the moment his opponent looks at his eyes. It would be too late for Kisame to look away.

-Itachi also has non-ocular genjutsu. Not looking at his eyes isn't going to get the opponent far. Kabuto took the precaution of completely sealing off his vision and relying solely on his DSM sensing in order to fight the guy...and at the end he still got caught in a genjutsu.

-Since that posts states that Samehada is a living organism with feelings and what not, would it be possible to get it caught in genjutsu as well?

-Kishimoto already provided a storyboard in one of the Naruto games with Itachi vs Kisame. Itachi just caught Kisame in a genjutsu early on in the fight (so the entire fight was a genjutsu) and it was pretty much done from there.

-Itachi has a higher score than Kisame in the databook.

-Kisame admitted in pt1 that Itachi was stronger than him when he stated that he would have a better chance than him at defeating a sannin.

Itachi wins this. U_U

Wow, way too many people to reply to. Please read what I wrote about Kisame vs MS Sasuke, Sasuke has a slightly different arsenal than Itachi but the same concepts apply to Mangekyou techniques. I go into slightly more detail than the other guy did with Itachi.
