, he automatically beats Kisame; no, that's not the case and it's entirely different. If he were already in the water, doesn't matter which is faster, Kisame or the fish the explosion would also take out Deidara. If he were already airborne, Kisame can always deactivate the dome and the explosion is significantly smaller and the fish would also not be able to travel on air. Going airborne isn't going to make Deidara's situation any better either, as Kisame can also travel in his Suiryūdan...

Deidara beats Kisame with no more than mid difficulty. He's a terrible matchup for him. Kisame can't absorb explosions, his water style makes the bomb explosions bigger, and the bombs can easily travel in water(besides, doton>>>>suiton) In the end, C3 kills Kisame. I still think Kisame is stronger than Deidara overall though.

He doesn't need intel. All Deidara uses is bombs. Bombs, bombs and bombs. If Sasuke found out and perfectly countered the C4 in time, all Kisame needs to do is absorb those bombs. C3 is also just a bomb, which doesn't function with or have special abilities. So Daikōdan would absorb that, regardless. What's bad for Deidara here, is that he doesn't know anything about the dome. Once he is in it, it's over for Deidara because he can't counter it at all.​
