❝My massive blade Samehada, doesn't slice… It shreds you to ribbons!❞
● ○ Basic Info
Kisame loves to fight. He is quite sadistic and demonstrates no hesitation in mutilating his opponents, as seen when he suggested cutting off Naruto's legs to make him easier to carry and to prevent the latter from escaping on foot. Despite his aggressive nature, Kisame is very perceptive and keen mind in battle, able to deduce the basics behind an opponent's technique and react to any potential danger he is aware of. Also, being paired with Itachi, Kisame is usually unable to finish or even start his battles with Itachi around, because the latter doesn't enjoy fighting as much as Kisame does. He would often inform his opponents that they "don't know how lucky they are". Kisame also has a deep loathing for Might Guy since their first encounter, with Guy's inability to remember Kisame prior to his death agitating him.
Originally when first partnered, Kisame warned an equally hostile Itachi to be careful of him. Over time, however, Kisame became one of the few members of Akatsuki that got along well with his partner despite the fact they had opposite personalities. The only common ground between both ninja being that they betrayed those close to them. Kisame was perfectly aware of his weaknesses and shortcomings and is aware Itachi is perfectly capable of compensating for him. As such, he was perfectly loyal to Itachi as he would only take action after being ordered to or after being given permission by him. While he was excited about fighting Kakashi, he had no complaints about letting Itachi handle him when Itachi pointed out his capabilities and personality were not the best way to handle the situation. He immediately obeyed Itachi's order to capture Kakashi and kill Asuma and Kurenai without any questioning and despite his love for battle, retreated when Itachi ordered him to do so. Despite his pride, Kisame acknowledged Itachi as the stronger and more intelligent of the duo, evident by Kisame saying to Itachi that he himself couldn't defeat Jiraiya, but stated his certainty that Itachi could go one-on-one with the Sannin and when he back down from a fight when Itachi ordered him to do so. Although he wasn't above reprimanding Itachi for being reckless with his Mangekyō Sharingan. Kisame appeared saddened upon hearing of Itachi's death. Kisame ultimately considered Itachi as a good friend, even thinking of him in his last moments. Kisame's loyalty to Itachi is so great even Zetsu thought he only stayed in Akatsuki because of Itachi and couldn't help but wonder if Kisame would stay with the organisation with Itachi dead. During his last moments and recalling what Itachi said about no one ever truly knows who they are until just before they died, Kisame hoped Itachi also realised who he really was before he died as well.
Kisame was motivated to help in completing the Eye of the Moon plan because of his own disillusionment with the world he lived in. He never felt as though he had a place or knew who he truly was as he was often ordered to undertake gruesome missions such as killing his own comrades. As such, he came to the conclusion that his entire life has been a lie. His partner Itachi has noted that he was a rogue that was unable to find a place for himself, something he himself may have understood because of his own treacherous past. Because of this, he was somewhat nihilistic, believing himself and Itachi to be destined to die meaninglessly due to their crime of comrade-killing. It was only with Itachi's advice to the otherwise that Kisame saw, at the end of his life, that he did not die as meaningless as he originally thought he would.
Kisame had a playful and morbid sense of humour and would often make light of serious situations while sporting a sadistic grin. This trait would even show during his fights as he would often mock his opponents as seen in the cases of Killer B and Guy. Upon hearing of the death of Hidan and Kakuzu, he referred to them as the "Zombie Brothers" in reference to their longevity.
Kisame was also shown to be honest and humble to his comrades, especially Itachi, as shown when Itachi reprimanded him for taking so long to capture Rōshi. Although defending himself by saying Itachi had no idea how powerful Rōshi was, Kisame quickly admitted he asked to capture Rōshi alone. He was also a very appreciative person. When Obito had disguised himself as a useless, incompetent, and clumsy person and having no idea of who he really was at the time, he still enjoyed his upbeat nature as he thought he livened up the mood of Akatsuki's meetings. He also reprimanded Tobi for taking so long to come clean that he was in fact alive after most of the members believed he died from Deidara's C0 suicide attack.
Other than believing everything he knew was a lie and desiring to see Tobi's "world of truth", Kisame lived strictly to protect valuable information as reflected in killing the Cypher Division to keep their intel from Konoha and executing Fuguki for selling their village's secrets; on a related note, he refused to bond with his team-mates when they were on a mission together. This ideal became his philosophy.

Picture:
Nature TransformationKisame is a master of Water Release techniques, capable of performing them with one handseal. His talent with the Nature Transformation is often employed in battle along with his Shark-related Ninjutsu, allowing him to turn even the most barren of terrains into a flooded, ocean-like environment for his advantage.
Kisame also possesses talent in Earth-related Ninjutsu, often using it to travel beneath the earth with Samehada poking above the surface to give the impression of a shark's fin.
Befitting his shark theme, Kisame is a signer of the Shark Contract, his experience and skill reflected in the shark-related Water ninjutsu that he often employs. Kisame has used his sharks both for battle and espionage/message sending purposes.
Though most of the time wrapped in bandages, Samehada's construction is atypical in that its actual blade is comprised from a series of downward facing scales running along the entirety of its length until its hilt, at the base of which is a small skull. Samehada grows larger in proportion to the amount of chakra it absorbs, causing its scales to become so long that they ultimately resemble shark fins and its mouth, located at the tip of the blade, to become even more pronounced. As the blade is made up of scales, it inflicts injuries through shredding or shaving what it comes into contact with, rather than just cutting the object in question. This flaying effect is similar to a shark's skin, hence the sword's name. While it ordinarily remains rigid, its hilt is able to stretch and bend to great extent, allowing the weapon to be used like a flail. Bee even used Samehada as a javelin with the intent of having it biting his opponent. Samehada is unique for being a sentient weapon that gains nourishment from the chakra of others and as such, the blade is at its happiest when engorged with chakra that possesses both a distinctive and pleasant flavour. It apparently greatly enjoys Killer B's chakra since it tastes like octopus. However, it has shown displeasure towards fire-type chakra because it's far too hot. Being capable of conscious thought, Samehada chooses its own user, an exclusive process that has often resulted in it being thought of as notoriously picky, which is clearly shown in the fact that it only goes after the ones with delicious chakra. If someone it disapproves of attempts to wield it, spikes protrude from the handle in order to force them to release their grasp, at which point Samehada will make efforts to return to its chosen owner. Although it continually consumes the chakra of its owner, her largest meals come from fights, wherein it absorbs the chakra of the opposition instead. Such an ability allows Samehada to literally slice through an opponent's techniques, in spite of whether the chakra has been transformed or not, and even prevent them from being performed by absorbing all of the necessary chakra. This was illustrated when Killer B was reduced back to Version 1 after initially being in Version 2. However, it seems to be unable to automatically absorb ambient chakra. Samehada has also the ability to transfer the chakra it has absorbed to the wielder, so it can be used to either regenerate injuries or replenish their chakra reserves. Kisame goes one step further with this fusion by completely merging with Samehada.

(Han'you Fūin) — Generic Sealing Technique
Type: Supplementary/Defensive
Rank: B
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This technique is a standard ninja skill which allows a ninja to summon an assortment of items or weapons that have been stored using Fūinjutsu, typically they are stored within scrolls. When needed, the owner will activate the seals releasing their item or weapon of choice. Scrolls can also be used as ammunition for other weapons. The items themselves are unaffected by time. This Technique allows the user to seal any weapons they wish being their own or opponents.
Note: Cannot seal an opponent's custom weapons, or the special weapons of a particular character (Example: Samehada or Kubikiribocho).
Note: Can only seal corpses, and not injured people, regardless of the extent of their injury.
(Ho/Mizu/Kaze/Tsuchi/Rai Houin) — Fire/Water/Wind/Earth/Lightning Sealing Method
Type: Supplementary
Rank: B
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user takes out a scroll, and writes the name of the element they wish to seal in it. They then make four handseals, and a vapour comes out of the scroll, envelops the technique they wish to seal and seals it back into the scroll.
Note: This technique can only seal one technique up to S-rank per usage
Note: This technique may be used only thrice.
In addition, Kisame carries on his person several pre-made scrolls for the Earth Release: Wheel of Fortune technique, each designed with a different outline should he encounter a need for it.

(Fuuinjutsu: Boukun no Ryoudo) – Sealing Technique: Tyrant’s Dominion
Type: Supplementary
Rank: B
Range: N/A (+1 Range to Technique Applied to)
Chakra Cost: N/A (+20 to the Technique Used Prior to This)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user will have a seal on their body that can be activated whenever they use a technique that sends chakra through or into the ground. Upon activation, the seal will pump extra chakra into the technique and thereby extend it’s range by one degree (e.g. short-range techniques will be able to reach mid-range and mid-range techniques will be able to reach long-range). The chakra used for this technique will be added to the cost of the jutsu that preceded this. This technique counts as a move but occurs in the same timeframe as the technique it's applied to.
Note: Can only be used three times per battle
Note: Must have a one turn cool down the least between each usage
Note: Seal must be place within user's bio
Note: Can only be taught by Venom
(Fuuin: Hakari no Doragon) — Sealing Technique: Scales of the Dragon
Type: Supplementary/Defensive
Rank: S
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: N/A (-40 on Activation)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user has a seal on their body with the Kanji for "Impervious" that automatically activates upon the user being struck with a Taijutsu attack. A barrier instantly forms over the user (before the user can be harmed) and mitigates the damage dealt by the strike and any subsequent strikes encompassed in the technique or freeform combo. Whether a Taijutsu technique deals one single hit or a multitude of them, each activation of this seal will defend one single Taijutsu attack/combo, be it freeform or a technique. The effect of the barrier is to reduce rather than eliminate the damage the user takes from being struck physically by the opponent so it will only halve the damage of any Taijutsu technique no matter how powerful (e.g. S-Ranks will fall to 40 damage, D-Ranks will fall to 10 damage). Due to this seal only reducing damage rather protecting the user completely, it acts as a failsafe more than anything else in case the user is caught unawares by someone much faster than them. The user’s body will sustain the remaining damage after the barrier halves it’s power.
Note: Can only be used twice per battle
Note: User still takes half the damage
Note: Only applies to Taijutsu techniques
Note: No S-Rank or above Fūin in that turn or next
(Fuuin: Bachi no Kindachi) — Sealing Technique: Damocles - The Curse of Kings
Type: Defensive/Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: 40 (80 Chakra for Double Usage)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user will have four seals on their body (must be stated in the biography) with the Kanji for “Curse” that can be passively activated (instant but still counts as a move) whenever the opponent uses a technique. The seal will will release an intangible barrier that expands outwards in all directions. The barrier instantly reaches long-range in every direction and serves to absorb chakra from the given technique in order to weaken it by a quarter . The amount of chakra absorbed is proportional to the power of the technique but one thing that remains the same is that the remaining technique will fall to three-quarters it's original power i.e. a 120 damage technique would fall to 90 damage (Forbidden Rank). The barrier is destroyed soon after coming into contact with the technique if it exceeds a traditional S-Rank in power but not before it leeches a quarter of it’s chakra in order to weaken it by the same degree. The user can instead activate two barriers rather than one to reduce the targeted technique to half it’s original power rather than a quarter. This will count as two of the user’s three moves per turn. This means this technique does not counter other jutsu in itself but rather aids the user in countering more powerful techniques by weakening them. Due to the barrier’s intangibility, it will can work on solid techniques as well as liquids, gases and energy-based techniques. It will also only shatter against non-physical techniques due to their ability to clash with the intangible barrier. The reason this seal needs to be passively activated (still counts as a move) is so the user can use a technique in the same-timeframe to counter the opponent's weakened jutsu. This technique can be used thrice per battle, be it three usages of the single version, three usages of the double version or any variation/combination of the two.
Note: Can only be used three times per battle
Note: No Fūinjutsu techniques can be used in the user's same and next turn (when single version is used)
Note: No Fūinjutsu techniques can be used in the user's same and next two turns (when double version is used)
(Fūinjutsu: Maiyā no bando) - Sealing Arts: Mayer s Band
Type: Defensive/Supplementary
Rank: D-S
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: (equivalent to the amount of opposing tech)
Damage: N/A
Description: This seal, Mayer's Band, was created by an Uzumaki prior to their village's destruction. The jutsu's purpose revolves around the ability to identify and seal foreign energy produced by the user's enemies. The seal itself is placed onto a wrist band and it is a kanji line shaped like a pentagon with open circles placed at every point of the shape. When foreign energy enters short range of the user, the circles on the wristband emit a bright colorful light signifying to the user that an energy different from the energies known to them has broken their perimeter. The sealing band cannot inform the user about the type of energy being used, but it can and does tell the difference between the various energies it comes across, and thus repeats the same color glows corresponding with that energy when met again. Once the energy is close enough the seal will release a special energy absorbing barrier around the user protecting them for that one attack before sealing the foreign energy into the wristband protecting the user. The jutsu is quite helpful for shinobi who don't have any energy sensing abilities, and its sealing effect only lasts a limited time. After sealing its maximum amount of energy the band will only work as an energy identifier for the user, but it will no longer be able to seal energy.
NOTES
►Activates 3x per battle
►Has a one turn cool down
►When a S-Rank technique is sealed, no fuuin in the following turn, and then no fuuin above A in the next
►Seal must be placed in biography
►Can only be taught by ZandaT
(Fuuinjutsu: Goto) - Sealing Arts: Burglary
Type: Supplementary
Rank: A
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A (+20)
Description: The user will release an jutsu from their body or from away their body, while lacing the jutsu with a unique seal. The seal has a property of absorbing characteristics of an opponents jutsu when clashing against the users jutsu. This will weaken the opponent's jutsu by 20 CP and the 20 CP will be transferred to the users technique. However, this doesn't just simply improve in power, rather it steals byproducts that relate to the element and combines it with the users technique. E.g. if the seal absorbs properties of fire, specifically it will absorb either its heat, ash, or gas (this is for the user to decide) and whatever is chosen will coincide in aiding the users jutsu, so this can include heating up an earth or water jutsu, inflaming a fire jutsu to larger size, or make a lightning jutsu violently explode. This works logically with just about any elemental jutsu element, KG and CE included. Lastly, to reiterate, even when the users technique is up by 20 damage, this doesn't mean they will not still clash with the opponents technique, but the clash will be weakened (from the opponent's perspective) and this also follows elemental strength and weakness. In a lot of cases, this can also enhance the size of the jutsu, especially when two of the same elements clash. The process of attaching the seal is performing jutsus from the body through a seal (either on the tongue, or limbs) or slamming their hands on the ground and channeling seal simultaneously with the jutsu. Does not work with techniques that come out of thin air.
Note: Can only be taught by Joker. This does not work with water (unless absorbing the water jutsu of the opponent) mainly so it doesn't clash with Noni's Davy's Devilish Devouring technique. Can only work with S-Rank jutsus and can only absorb S-Rank and below jutsus. Can only be used three times. Can not be used in consecutive turns. Cannot be stacked with infusions.
Type: Supplementary

Range: N/A (+1 Range to Technique Applied to)

In addition, Kisame carries on his person several pre-made scrolls for the Earth Release: Wheel of Fortune technique, each designed with a different outline should he encounter a need for it.
● ○ Background Info
History:
Originally, Kisame was to guard the Cypher Division under orders from his superior, Fuguki Suikazan of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. When the group was cornered by Konoha-nin under Ibiki Morino during a mission, Kisame chose to kill the Cypher Division members to keep their intel from being leaked out through Ibiki's interrogation, as instructed by Fuguki.
Eventually, learning that Fuguki was selling information to other ninja villages, Kisame killed him and took Samehada for himself. Though the Fourth Mizukage Yagura commended him for his loyalty to Kirigakure, killing his comrade caused Kisame to become disillusioned and came to realise that the world was filled with lies. It was soon after that Kisame was approached by a mysterious figure who was manipulating Yagura from the shadows, calling himself Madara Uchiha. After seeing the shinobi's Sharingan, Kisame insisted that he reveal himself, leading the masked stranger to show Kisame his face. After explaining his motives and the Eye of the Moon Plan to Kisame, he was initially sceptical of the mysterious ninja, but the notion of a "world of truth" enticed him.
Now a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, Kisame was given the title of "Monster of the Hidden Mist", and formed a connection with Suigetsu Hōzuki and Mangetsu Hōzuki. Kisame eventually became a missing-nin when the Land of Water sought him for plotting to overthrow its government and being involved in numerous assassinations that include another country's daimyō. Kisame eventually joined the Akatsuki and was partnered with Itachi Uchiha. Though they initially greeted each other with hostility, they became good partners. The Akatsuki seeking members, approached Deidara to join their organisation. After getting caught in Itachi's genjutsu, Kisame laughed at how close the clueless shinobi came to dying. After the fight ended, Kisame, Itachi and Sasori succeeded in recruiting Deidara.
Kisame accompanied Itachi to Konoha to help kidnap Naruto Uzumaki. After the two gained attention due to their unusual clothing, they were stopped by Asuma Sarutobi and Kurenai Yūhi. Asuma and Kurenai found themselves outmatched, but Kakashi arrived to help balance the odds. Asuma was able to distract Kisame while Itachi fought Kakashi. He waited patiently for Itachi's fight to finish, but before Itachi delivered the final blow, Kakashi remembered Jiraiya's warning and recognised the duo as members of Akatsuki from their black cloaks. Itachi changed his mind and ordered Kisame to kidnap Kakashi and kill Asuma and Kurenai. Before he could do so, however, Might Guy showed up and kicked an attacking Kisame in the face. Following Guy's arrival, Itachi ordered Kisame to retreat, not wanting to start a large-scale battle. Kisame seemed quite annoyed with Itachi's idea, as he desperately wanted to fight the Konoha shinobi.
Itachi and Kisame then continued to hunt Naruto, finding him under the protection of Jiraiya. After Itachi hypnotised a woman to distract Jiraiya and leave Naruto alone, Kisame and Itachi confronted Naruto in a hotel hallway. Kisame considered cutting off Naruto's legs so he could not run away, though Sasuke, Itachi's younger brother, showed up and drew their attention from Naruto. When Naruto attempted to fight, Kisame used Samehada to absorb all of Naruto's chakra. Kisame then attempted to cut off Naruto's arms so he wouldn't put up a fight. Before he could do this, however, Jiraiya arrived, and had the toad Gama defend Naruto. Following the encounter, Kisame and Itachi were driven off by Jiraiya's Summoning: Toad Mouth Bind, failing in capturing Naruto.
At the end of Part I, Kisame made a cameo appearance as a silhouette during an Akatsuki gathering where they discussed Orochimaru's taking of Sasuke Uchiha as well as the capturing of the Nine-Tails and the furthering of their plans.

Guy then attempted to attack Kisame with his own sword but Samehada intervened and returned to its owner. Now that it was a one on one fight, Kisame directed all his attention towards Guy leading him to use his nunchaku. After exchanging blows with each other, Kisame overpowered Guy, launching him to the bottom of the newly formed lake. Seeing that he had the geographical advantage, Kisame repeatedly attacked Guy until he was forced to open the sixth gate. Doing so, Guy forced away the surrounding water and immediately attacked Kisame, sending him flying into the air, giving an opportunity for him to use his Morning Peacock technique to end the fight, resulting in Kisame's clone being killed. Afterwards Kisame voiced his regret to Itachi that their clones only had 30% of their chakra and thus were not as powerful as their actual selves. Ultimately, however, the two accomplished their task of delaying the two teams long enough for the rest of the Akatsuki to extract Shukaku from Gaara.
Later, Kisame successfully managed to capture the jinchūriki of the Four-Tails, his assigned tailed beast, without a scratch. During the following Akatsuki meeting to seal the Four-Tails, Kisame and Itachi were informed of Hebi's formation, with Sasuke as its leader.
They are soon afterwards told that Sasuke has been killed, and Kisame tries to comfort Itachi for finally being the last Uchiha. Itachi replies that Sasuke is not dead. After a brief sparing session with Itachi, Kisame is instructed to stand guard outside the Uchiha Hideout and to let only Sasuke through. Kisame openly admitted he was somewhat saddened to be parting with his long time companion. After Sasuke left the rest of Hebi, Suigetsu, being an old acquaintance of Kisame, exchanged words with him, and then the two started fighting, with Suigetsu wanting to claim Samehada as his own. It was later revealed that Zetsu had stopped the fight.
Following Itachi's death, Kisame is confronted by Tobi, who revealed his true identity. Recognising him and addressing him as the "Mizukage" and Madara, Kisame commented that he felt a lot better knowing that he was the one who was pulling the strings. Tobi apologises for leaving Kisame the last member of Akatsuki to know his identity when in fact he is closest to Kisame.
Kisame later assisted with the sealing of the Eight-Tails captured by Sasuke. When this turns out to be a fake, Kisame notes that the Eight-Tails' host, Killer B, fooled Sasuke.
After Utakata was captured, Kisame was seen along with the other Akatsuki members sealing the Six-Tails from him.

Nature Transformation
Kisame also possesses talent in Earth-related Ninjutsu, often using it to travel beneath the earth with Samehada poking above the surface to give the impression of a shark's fin.
Physical Prowess
Kisame possesses immense physical power and stamina, reflected in his power in Taijutsu and his chakra reserves. In reference to the latter, Kisame earned himself the moniker of the Tailless Tailed Beast due to his enormous reserves being compared to that of the Tailed Beast themselves. Kisame's physical strength is extremely high, combining strong taijutsu strikes with powerful slashes from Samehada. His strength was sufficient enough to parry and even overpower noted physical fighters such as Asuma Sarutobi and Might Guy. As a result of his enormous strength, Kisame's Taijutsu and Kenjutsu deal more damage than the average shinobi.Summoning Contract
Befitting his shark theme, Kisame is a signer of the Shark Contract, his experience and skill reflected in the shark-related Water ninjutsu that he often employs. Kisame has used his sharks both for battle and espionage/message sending purposes.
Samehada
Samehada (鮫肌; Literally meaning "Shark Skin") is a large sentient sword, comparable in size to the Kubikiribouchou. It is described as "the most terrifying of all the Seven Swordsmen's blades" and even earned the title of "greatsword" (大刀, daitou), further adding to its fearsome reputation. After Kisame Hoshigaki killed its former wielder Fuguki Suikazan, the blade came into his possession. The two had a long history together and during this period, confronted various renowned shinobi on several occasions, with their pairing leading Kisame to become regarded as a "Tailed Beast without a Tail" (尾を持たない尾獣, O o Motanai Bijuu). During Kisame's initial fight with Killer B, Samehada grew fond of the taste of Bee's particular chakra and ultimately betrayed Kisame. After Kisame's death, Samehada actually cries for him, not only bestowing the blade with even more lifelike characteristics but also, standing as a testament to the bond shared between the two. Samehada also can function as some kind of "backpack" as it holds several of Bee's swords and it contained Kisame himself for a long while.Though most of the time wrapped in bandages, Samehada's construction is atypical in that its actual blade is comprised from a series of downward facing scales running along the entirety of its length until its hilt, at the base of which is a small skull.
