Kirin is an impractical and slow jutsu

Don't get me wrong; the initial strike and the jutsu itself is extremely quick.

But it's the SETUP that makes it slow. First you have to create the needed thunder clouds, then you have to charge it up with chidori, and then Sasuke must craft it into a dragon head before it strikes.

By then, most shinobi will know that bad craps going down.

This is why we haven't seen Kirin since. It's impractical to use in an actual fast paced battle. Kishi just built it up then said, "Dammit, why did I make this?" then squandered it and forgot about it.

But it is my favorite of Sasuke's jutsu haha. And it is very useful if he knows he has a long fight ahead of him

He can beat MS Obito due to Enton Spam but he can't beat Rinnegan Obito.

I think Kishi originally planned for Sasuke to be able to utitlize the jutsu without any prep time but realized how op it was and created the prep time to counter-balance that.

Overall it's not a jutsu that aids Sasuke very much in battle. It contradicts his versatility in battle and restricts his attacks. He needs to focus on the actual jutsu's preparation before the full strike which is tedious.

Overall though, it's one of my favourite jutsus, easily top 5 for me. I wish Sasuke could make it a little more effective.

Kirin takes set up time yes . That doesnt mean it cant be effective . once its prepared its very fast , zetsu said one thousand of a second or something like that . Not to mention the destructive power being thats its natural lightining

Wise words Mourinho dude, Kirin might be powerful but people overrate it too much at times.It is not a practical jutsu at all, it was used under very unique and special circumstances that can´t happen in a normal fight.No top Ninja is gonna stand there waiting for Sasuke to prepare it, against top shinobi you don´t have the privilege of time and battles are fast paced.

And providing his own Amaterasu is a problem how?

-Can spam it for longer than Itachi can.
-Can use more than Itachi used.
-Still has his own fire style.

If you think chakra is an issue, I'd gladly advise you to re-read the manga. Sasuke when he fought Danzo used a small scale Amaterasu and a lvl 2 Susanoo and started panting. EMS Sasuke used a large amount of Amaterasu to fry Kabuto's webs and had already been using Susanoo in that fight and showed no strain or fatigue whatsoever. for the duration of the fight.

More Amaterasu=More heat=Time shortened for the atmosphere to heat up=Faster prepped Kirin.

Not to mention the fact that it probably didn't even take up to 7 minutes to prep it vs Itachi once the Amaterasu was out.
