Those who watched oldschool animes before 2000 maybe remember to one of the most oldest (if not the FIRST) neverending shonen fight anime/manga, Kinnikuman, which almost he "foundation stone" of all later long running shonen fight serieses. There's nothing that other mangas didn't "borrowed" from this franchise (Power Limits, "starts as then turns into" plot, newer and stronger enemies and rivals, character deaths and resurrections, legendary figures and techniques and so on) and in one interview Kishimoto said HE LIKED that series when he was young.
Well, there's a very interesting "parallel" between the hero of Kinnikuman, Kinniku Suguru (1979) and Uzumaki Naruto (1999), who shares TOO much things in both in their personalities and story development, even their love life and "habits" are scarily almost the same!
Yes, Neji is not a "mass murderer", but he was also a bloodthirsty villain until Naruto redeemed.
What do you think? Could it be that Kishimoto simply copypasted Kinniku Suguru from Kinnikuman? Because if I have to compare Naruto to another shonen hero, it would be definitly Kinniku Suguru!
LOL. Nobody has arguments about the parallels here? :/
