I think Hinata will get a power up, its due time and the implications for it are piling up now. It could be possible that Sakura would finally release her seal as well.

I never said she would never surpass him, just not by the end of the manga. Obviously she will surpass him as he is dead.

It's obvious Hinata will surpass Neji. It's like Lee surpassing Guy and Team 7 surpassing the Sannin. Neji's death (and Guy's upcoming death) all lead to the younger becoming stronger and better than the ones they looked up to in the past.

The main point of this was the Hyuuga's being the first clan, not Hinata's possible power up.
