No damage remained afterward, and the Curse Seal has never been shown to regenerate. For instance, when Sasuke lost his wing to Deidara, it stayed lost. However, the premise that his body only recovers from damage inflicted by his bones, as opposed to damage in general, is odd. I've never heard of any recovery power working like that.

It not the curse seal that regenerates, but kimmis KKG throught the power of the curse mark. It could work like that since his body would know when it's damaged by itself due to how his KKG works. It's all in his genes. If he had that same recovery ability but not limited to his body, then he would be practically as immortal as tsunade with her byakugou.

His KKG is known for its ability to give the user control over the growth and density of ones bones, rendering them with a virtually indestructible body, not for its capability to heal against any attack against the user. It's only known that the body heals the damaging effects that his KKG inflicts on him when using his KKG to project bones from his body.

Yes, and the Sharingan was introduced for its ability to copy ninjutsu, not genjutsu or precognition. Many subsidiary abilities are left out in the initial assessment of kekkei genaki but they can nevertheless be observed. The Curse Seal empowers ninjutsu, but doesn't give it new functionality like your hypothesizing.

It's not giving it new functionality, but enhancing its own healing properties. The curse seal empowers a users chakra to increase all of the users abilities like sage mo, though not to the same extent.

If the function transitions from only healing wounds inflicted by bones to healing all wounds, then the functionality changes. Increasing the healing property while leaving the functionality static would simply mean that Kimimaro could only heal from more severe bone wounds.

There's nothing ambiguous about the scan. Is Kabuto Orochimaru's servant? Yes. He said Kimimaro was the strongest servant. Moreover, he said nobody from the Leaf could defeat Kimimaro
no the quote is no one PERIOD can beat him. obvious hyperbole as oro would have to disagree

Mr. Future Trunks, you can see that Kabuto is using chakra scalpels in this scan:
