When you think about it Shikotsumyaku is technically a healing feat in an indirect way because it involves recreating new bones and regenerating the wounds they leave.

The ability to regenerate at that level is a feat only associated with individuals that have Ashura's healing ability

Kishi likes to stick to parallels and I think the fact Kimimaro's clan was named after Kaguya and possessed her KKG is proof that Hamura may have been the progenitor of two lineages like Hagoromo.

Kaguya clan would've been the Senju counterpart to Hyuga due to their ability to heal bones (vital for taijutsu) and shield the Byakugan's blind spot, I think it's most likely that Hamura's power was split between Kimimaro's ancestors and the Hyuga.

His KKG being a Yang feat would also explain why he died young, overusing the jutsu may have led him to losing his life force similar to Nagato when he overused a dojutsu that requires Ashura's "body".

But Tsunade and Sakura use the Yin Seal to regenerate.

Naruto was able to rejuvenate life into Gai, but couldn't regrow the parts of him that already turned to ash.

Yin was stated to be the power to create form, and Yang could breathe life into that form, so regeneration might be Yin

Byakugou is analogous to Hashirama's passive regeneration which was a result of his vitality or Yang energy, so it's presumably Yang Release. Why it's considered a Yin Seal is unknown.

I agree what Riker said that Yang Release has nothing to do with it his regeneration. Also, I agree that Shikotsumyaku is in the Yang category and to add that it has no correlation with Yin: Seal or Byakugou.

About that topic: I don't think it's an innate healing ability. I assume his body has adapted to his Kekkei Genkai and build a resistance, which allows him to heal faster than normal.

But there is a limit on how much he can take:

Ashura's body doesn't have anything to do with this.

Except, the Kaguya Clan are likely descended from Hamura's line. Not Hagormo. Hagormo's descendants are the Uchiha (Yin + Eyes) and Senju/Uzumaki (Yang + Body). For Hamura's bloodline, the Hyuga would represent the Eyes and the Kaguya and Moon Otsutsuki represent the Body.

It would've been interesting seeing someone like Neji with Kimimaro cells
It would be good, it'll also enhance his physical energy greatly too.

Like thank you, clearly you're obviously right. That retard still goes around saying the most stupidest things around here. Just ignore him, it's better because I do it all the time.

That's what my thread said xd Kaguya are the "Senju" of Hamura's bloodline, Hyuga got Hamura's dojutsu and juken while Kaguya clan got his bone KKG and potential to use senjutsu. +rep for effort though
