I would think his use of nunchuks is equivalent to Lee's drunken fist, in regard to unpredictability.

I would say yes, but i don't know what a healthy kimimaro is capable of exactly. At least worth threatening Gai.

OT: depends whether being burned takes Kimi out or not, i believe Asakujaku can fire him up enough to burn his cells to stop their division on flesh. Bone forrest gets countered by summoning turtle and jumping out of range, if kid Gaara and and Lee reacted to it, Gai can do it aswell.

I'll try not to be bias, but it depends on Gai's strength. As the manga protrys it, his strength it beyond normal as implied here.

But to go further i question weather or not it's almost near Tsundae and Sakura's base strength. Again, Kish has Gai attmept to break a builder himself, something Sakura does later herself. However, the barrier prevented this

Rock Lee couldn't even touch Kimimaro with his normal fighting style, he had to go into an unpredictable drunken state which guy doesn't possess.

Guy's only hope in this fight is to use the 8th gate and hope he can cause a double suicide draw.
