Base Guy slapped away Gaara's Sand Coffin, whereas Kimimaro could not, and even needed CS1 and bone masks under his skin just to survive. Now you can argue that Gaara at that point was stronger than he was in the Chunin exams, but the gap between the two clearly could not be that wide if Kimimaro was dodging his sand attacks in base, while being around "fresh out of the hospital" base Lee's speed level. Add in the other crazy stuff Guy has done in base (knocking away a physical powerhouse like Kisame, his feats against Obito), and you could make a good argument for Guy against base and even CS1 Kimimaro.

Now add in the boost that the 6th Gate gives him, and the fact that Guy evaporated a tidal wave and countered an acid mist from a Bijuu with Asa Kujaku, and Guy stomps. Even if I were to assume that Kimimaro can survive the heat of Asa Kujaku in CS2, he is definitely not staying in CS2 longer than Guy can stay in the lower Gates (3-5), considering that he doesn't need to be in the 6th Gate to avoid Kimi's attacks.

Therefore either Kimi gets stomped before he can reach CS2, he gets stomped in CS2, or if you really believe in his durability, Guy dances around him while he's in CS2, then stomps him after he cancels the mode due to exhaustion.

The burns on the kisame lookalike weren't severe. In CM2 sasuke (who has less durability than Kimi) survived Itachi's katon with only minimal burns not really sure how peacock would kill him

Doesn't matter. Guy still torched a tidal wave and pushed back an acid mist from a Bijuu with a larger scale version of the same technique. Nothing is stopping him from doing the same here.

The Katon that Sasuke tanked:

has nothing on the Asa Kujaku used to evaporate a tidal wave:

So I'm not sure how that comparison matters.

wtf? How does it not matter? Because it pokes a hole in your argument?
The fact is that Itachi's Katon was a fire jutsu made with chakra and Gai's peacock is natural fire. Adding chakra to an attack makes it stronger.

Boulders =/= reinforced steel
and CM2 has the potential to be even stronger than that.

None is saying base gai can destroy kimi bone layer ,6th gate gai >>>>>>>Base gai when it comes to strength ,so it is iffy ,if gai can destroy kimi bone layer then he wins ,if he cant then kimi outlasts .

CM2 is obviously more durable than the bone layer, but other than that I agree with you 100%.

So Itachi's Katon is going to counter this?

It doesn't matter if Itachi's katon has chakra in it. If it doesn't show as good destructive feats then it is simply not stronger.

If Gai used that against Kimimaro how many do you think would hit given he's roughly the same size as one of those sharks?

It's obviously Might Guy that wins this. So even without Dr. Spoof, there is still wanking going on.

It's Gai punching. IF he wants it to be widespread he can make it widespread, otherwise he'll just focus all of the punches right at Kimimaro.

Disagree- I think the range has more to do with anything determining how many hits land. Look at how many fireballs miss and Gai was only aiming at 'Kisame'

Those fireballs are the effects of Gai hitting Kisame. They are missing cause the impact is also shooting out the flames in addition to roasting Kisame. Kisame is getting the worst of Gai's punches and the heat cause he is right where Gai is punching.

Yeah I see what you're saying they're kind of ricocheting off of him.
