So...lately i've been watching the anime Code: Breaker, and i've noticed that the main character has similar goals to those of Light/Kira(from Death Note). They basically kill evil people/criminals in order to create a better world. I know that killing people the way they do is not morally correct, but can you come up with a different way of reducing criminal rates as effectively as they did?

Lelouch is little different from Light....Light is simply a mad man who wants the world to go his way, but while Lelouch is making the world a better place for his little sister.

Does Code: Breaker mean Code Geass?

OT: Killing people like Light is wrong. But if you think about it, L was also 'killing' people by giving them a death sentence, albeit it wasn't only L, but rather the whole PD. (sorry if that's a run-on)

No, it's a different anime, but i've watched Code Geass too.

death penalty imo is not something we should have

the human society is based on a social contract and for a society to form the first rule is that we DONT kill eachother so I think that the body that upholds the social system shouldnt have the authority to take someones life no matter what they did because it breaks the first rule needed for society to exist

So you'd let a mass murderer live the rest of his life in a secure building with three meals a day and a place which can sustain life? Right. Death penalty is needed. Sometimes there are people in this world too twisted to let go on living. I would in no way advocate letting someone who murdered and hurt people continuing to live off people's foolish notions of mercy.
