I just finished this anime. I thought it was really, really good. The animation style was different yet refreshing. There were a couple of derps here and there, but the animation was, for the most part, very solid. The music was a focal point of the show but also wasn't. I've never really seen a music anime, so this was different for me. The ending was great. Watanabe did an amazing job at making me like his characters, specifically Sentaro and Kaoru. I fully recommend this anime to anyone who wants a musical/drama anime, or rather, a good anime. I give it a 9.0/10.0.
I liked the ending because
I liked the ending because
it showed the three main characters post-high school. Typically, shows just end right in high school, but this show didn't. You got to see that time didn't stop for these characters. They decided to go to college, and their relationships were affected because of it. It was pretty accurate to how life works, and I appreciated that. None of the main characters ended up with each other, which was nice to see. The show ending on a jam session between Sentaro and Kaoru was perfect. And then them seeing Ristuko. I cried a little.
