thats what im saying....all these shikamaru fan boys atent given me enough evidence on how he would win...kibas chakra alone was noted to be wild and he has akamarus to deal with plus food pills?

Wow why is everybody underestimating Kiba? He held up against the leader of the sound four and split him in half. I think he can beat shika for one reason.
His KG is shadow possession and Kiba fights as a pair with Akamaru, it would be very difficult to get both of them at the same time and if he gets one the other will attack.

We all know Shikamaru is smarter than Kiba on top of them being peers. I bring up them being peers because Shikamaru has probably observed him fight and would know how to handle fighting Kiba. Only way Kiba could win IMO is to try and catch Shikamaru right at the start, but I think Shikamaru would expect that.

Well what do you expect him to do, then? Shikamaru has literally no offensive tactics, kunai and bomb will do literally nothing to Sotoro. His shadows couldn't even hold Hidan back, you expect it to prevent a giant dog 50 times its size from lunging and ripping him apart?
He's "smart", it's cool and all but if that's the only thing you have to back you up you can't win a battle with just intelligence and nothing else. Shikamaru gets torn apart, literally.
Shika's place is not in a straight up fight 1 vs 1 - ing people. That's not his place as a strategist and a thinker. If they were to go 1 on 1. I'm sure Kiba would win somehow....probably, but its a 0% chance of Shika fighting anyone straight up...ever again because he works best in a team. It's useless and time-wasting to talk about a battle with Shika vs someone straight up because he just doesn't do that since the Retrival so yeah, whatever

If they both have intel on each other Shikamaru wins cause he is smarter and he would have a game plan for anything kiba could throw at him.
He would expect kiba to come out full blast cause that's how he fights.
Shikamaru has many ways to stop kiba and his shadows can attack multiple enemies. Check chapter 55

Shikamaru's shadows can hold you for up to 5 mins that's plenty long enough to make you stab your self or cut ur wrists or head off or even make you stand still while paper bombs blow you too pieces like he did to Hidan
