Im pretty sure your not fast enough to move, and jump over your partner.

That jutsu also takes about 2 seconds before it starts to travel and makes a lot of noise before had. Not to mention me and him are side by side its more of a turn than a jump I would still end up taking most of the damage from both jutsus sacrificing myself saving my partner. This allowing for him to continue unharmed. Not to mention the lighting will be slightly slowed down due to the wall. The lighting would kill me and my dead body would protect from the following fire jutsu. It has nothing to do with be faster than lighting. Watching the jutsu on video gives an idea of how long it takes to reach mid range.

Alright lets just say you actually jump on him, your trying to tell me your body can prevent the fireball from killing both of you.
If you actually know what it looks like you would't bother protecting him.

For some reson I was thinking of a different jutsu. I thought it was fire ball jutsu. Then yeah idk. According to the rules I can't make any changes to a move. So I guess get an official ruling and we can gofrom there
