"Oi, welcome back to the old training grounds, this time I brought Scorps here with me:"*Waits for my old sempai*
Lez do this D:<
"Oi, welcome back to the old training grounds, this time I brought Scorps here with me:"
:scorps: :"................"
Without saying a word, the greats Scorps raises a single chakra infused wooden dummy for our session, and leaves just as silently as he had appeared.
"He's the silent type, so don't worry, it's not you. This time we'll be learning Kenjutsu, so begin by explaining to me everything you know about Kenjutsu, and what it is to you."
Well I liked your response but it isn't "all there" Although Kenjutsu is infact the art of the sword, one doesn't have to actually respect their sword in order to properly wield a blade. However to be a truly exceptional swordsman, you must first learn to either respect of fear the sword you wield. Swords should not just be thought of as an extension of the arms, but as an extension of the soul; a part of you.
Nice being back
Kenjutsu is the art of swordsmanship and wielding katanas in a fight. It is used not only for attacking but also for defending yourself. It is a very useful style since its much stronger than taijutsu and creates a perfect distance from the enemy as the swords are an extension of the arms. This style is also important because it shows respect to the swords which they deserve, instead of just being treated as a cause of blood.

And what do you mean, it's stronger than Taijutsu? (I'm curious and would like you to elaborate).
Alright, Good.By strong then Taijutsu I meant that it has many more advantages. First and foremost is the increased range due to your blade being longer then your arm and the power behind to sword would inflict more damage then the usual punch or kick would. While yes there are many Taijutsu combos that may cause extensive damage the Kenjutsu combos would cause that much more that their Counterpart Taijutsu combos.
Well that's absolutely fine, that's what we're here for. Anyways, I suppose that means that you don't really have any weapon of preference such as a Katana, Longsword, Nodochi, etc.
I would assume that two handed slash would take more time yet cause more damage while the one handed slash would be vice versa. A two handed slash would also leave you without an extra hand in case anything were to happen while slicing.Well that's absolutely fine, that's what we're here for. It doesn't really matter because this training is pretty universal so, yeh.
Anyways, moving on, could you tell me what the difference between a One-Handed Slash and a Two-handed Slash might be, besides the obvious?
Well you got the basic idea, but there's a lot you missedI would assume that two handed slash would take more time yet cause more damage while the one handed slash would be vice versa. A two handed slash would also leave you without an extra hand in case anything were to happen while slicing.
I left the obvious out >_>
I wanted to mention combos but I was not sure if you meant a single slash or multiple :T_T:Well you got the basic idea, but there's a lot you missedOne-Handed Slashes are weaker, as well as not being as fast as Two-Handed Slashes, however, they offer for more maneuverability and allow for you to follow up each slash with a combo strike easily. As for Two-Handed, they are stronger and faster, due to the extra force carried behind the blade through the use of two hands. However, it is harder to follow up and chain consecutive attacks.
Any Questions on that?
LolI wanted to mention combos but I was not sure if you meant a single slash or multiple :T_T:
I have no questions on the matter as your explanation seems pretty clear
Slicing from left to right? Right to left? Where are you striking the dummy?Sorry bout not replying in a while
*I reach over towards the hilt of my sword with my right hand, grasping it and then unsheathing the sword. After that I pull my right arm behind my back while bringing it so that the sword is at the same height of my shoulder. Finally I then quickly pull my arm forwards and over towards the other side of my body while moving elegantly and slicing with the energy of the Katana..*
