The man killed the verse, I know some may say he didn't and he's full of himself but since I rap I understand what he's saying. In the song he did called control with big sean he said "I'm raising the bar.....can you jump for it." thats basically making rap entertaining now, he's pushing other rappers to get in the game, especially the ones he dissed. I liked the diss, rap was based off competition and bringing that same competition back is fun=D

Kendrick lamar id the sh*t and does not have to prove himself to the haters on this site. Anyone who says he sucks has no taste in rap music. Please provide me with your opinion on who is good.

"I'm trying to raise the bar -- who tryna jump and get it?
You better off tryna skydive
out the exit window of 5 G5's with 5 grand
and your granddad as the pilot
he drunk as **** tryna land
with a hand full of arthritis and popping prosthetic leg
bumpin Pac in the cockpit so the shit that pops in his head
Is an option of violence, someone heard that the stewardess said
That your parachute is a latex condom hooked to a dread"

The imagery on just this part alone was Eminem quality. I really don't see how anyone could not like this verse. It really didn't need any gas it's on full already. People love rappers like Drake who "subliminally" diss rappers and then act like they ain't do so, then claim he the best and no rapper compares to him in all his songs but then be calling other rappers the best at shows and stuff (Kanye, Lil Wayne). Kendrick kept it real. Yea he has respect for them but he let them know directly that he's better and he's raising the bar so high that them even trying to reach it and survive is as hopless as well...see the imagery in the rhymes.

I'm excited to see how everyone responds. This is going to be good for hip-hop. I'm not even a fan of Kendrick. Didn't even bother buying or listening to his album (still not going to either), but I'm glad he's trying to bring real competition back to hip-hop. Not that petty beef nonsense, but real competitive spirit without all this co-signing crap

It honestly wasn't that great, not sure why it's so "amazing". Drake, Lil Wayne, etc. etc. are all terrible now-a-days, there's barely any good rap songs that aren't underground. To say he's the offspring of Makaveli is a god awful lie.

Anyone who said Kendrick is trash either is stuck on Tupac and Biggie, has no knowledge of rap, or is a Lil Wayne/Drake fan. Kendrick isn't trash to me and I'm not even that much of a fan.

I don't really listen to rap music though, I listen to Trap music and Chicago (where I'm from) music.

Personally, Lil Herb and Lil Bibby are the best right now. Everything they rap about, they actually live through. Their flows are also amazing. They are very talented.
