It's too minute nowadays. Rap is shit today, even people I respected like Eminem are loosing credibility. **** the new school, old school is the best U_U
Check out Ab-Soul, Danny Brown, Lupe Fiasco, Kendrick Lamar, and others. Lyricism is still around, it's just being overshadowed by mainstream "trap" and dirty south rap. =/

Kendrick, Nas, and a few others I cant think of at the moment are still holding it down. Groups like YMCMB and MMG are just pissing me off. I miss the days where rappers were independent and killing the media with sick lyrics. Nowadays everyones in groups and have writers. Im not saying they lack talent, but I just think they should just shine on there own.

Ab-soul's life has been rough dude lol. Listen to Book of Soul and you'll pretty much understand why he's 'so disappointed' lol.

Lol people who mention 2pac and Biggie usually dont listen to rap or know what real rap is
Nah, it's just mainly that's what they grew up with and what prolly got them into music. They know more about that music then the current music out and therefore feel like they can relate to it. Plus, they're probably around the same age as those artists so the things they were talking about probably was the same things they went through back then, I dunno though.

Nah, it's just hip-hop is always evolving and changing, whether for the better or worse it yet to be seen. Like back in 2004-2006, the Hip-hop game was revolving around what they call Snap Muzik. Ya kno, D4L, Dem Franchise Boyz, Soulja Boy, etc. All the Dancing music and whatnot. Now, we're practically living in the so-called Swag Era of music, where lyrics are moreso based on people swag, money, and other materialistic things like that. And going the independent route is getting harder because now people always want a team to back them and easier promotion, marketing etc (#TeamBreezy, #TeamMinaj, #MMG, all that other shit).

Btw, K.Dot is part of Black Hippy with Ab-soul, ScHoolboy Q, and Jay Rock. :p
