Okay NB this my theory on how Dust Release works. First things first, we cover the basic already known facts.
1)Dust Release is a Kekkei Touta a level above Kekkei Genkai's
2)Dust Release requires three chakra natures(Fire, Earth, Wind) to form/use
3)Dust Release was created by Muu and passed down to Onoki with them being the only Dust Release(Sub Atomic Detachment) users i the Narutoverse
Now moving on. . .
Major Note: People the images I used below are relatively large so don't open them if your computer slows down on four 1200x700 sized pictures. I used larger pictures so yall could see clearly.
I've broken down the 3D shape figure into three different areas and how they correspond to each other making the jutsu possible. The 3D shape is made by Muu/Onoki funneling their wind and earth natures simutaneously along with fire nature aswell but less.
- In the picture below it appears that Onoki first creates an orb shape ball with wind surrounding it or encasing it possibly to give it power and hold its shape.
- Then a second or two after creating his orb encased in wind chakra he begins to funnel his earth nature chakra. Forming a powerful six sided transparent thin earth and wind layer wall around the orb to contain it's power also giving him the ability to aim with it rather than losing control of it. As you see here he's using his wind and earth natures to stretch/increase the size of the cube giving him a bigger shot or just to use it on a much larger scale as seen against Madara's 25 Susano'os.
- With all three natures activated he increases and decreases the amount chakra he funnels into them to maintain the jutsu and it's strength. After the 3D cube shape is completed Onoki increases the power of the orb which I believe is both wind and fire natures, but mainly fire. My guess is that the orb shape within the cube is fire nature chakra and by increasing the heat reflecting off the orb Muu/Onoki is capable of disintegrating anything inside the cube to sub atomic level. The wind nature is only to increase the speed in which things detach/disintegrate.
(Now personally I don't know if anything could be disintegrated to sub atomic level but that was the only word I felt that would paint the correct picture.)
This is what the jutsu looks like when all three natures are funneled correctly at the exact time of their use. The earth and wind release walls are keeping the orb in place also you notice that the walls are clear which I believe is to allow the user to see if their target is inside or not and when to increase the orbs power. You should also notice that the orb is focused to the middle of the 3D cube and even when the cube is expanded the orb's size never increases beyond it's walls possibly to keep it from destroying it's container.
