Kekkei Genkai

Are Kekkei Genkai rare or not? I thought they were really rare and unique, and in the latest chapter, we see lots of people with them.

I thought Darui was the only one with Storm Release, but there were many others there.
I thought Mei and Kurotsuchi were the only two with lava release, but again, there were many more.

What's happening? How could KKG go from being super rare (like Wood and Dust Release) to being as common as we are seeing now?

It is still rare. Among thousands of Shinobi in a village, only ten or less or so, have a certain elemental kekkei genkai.
Sure its less rare than if only 1 would have it, but its still pretty damm rare imo.
It might seem as if many shinobi have a gekkei genkai, cause they are all assembled at once place right now.

Its not common and what you are seeing are all the KG users joining the battle, giving it a illusion that its common.

The rare ones are the ability to combine elements, such as Onoki, Mei, and Darui.

The common ones are Sharingan, Byakugan, Sennin Transformation and such.

UM what you saw was may be 100 ninja having Kekkei genkai out of 40,000 soldiers and out of the enitre shinobi world i think thats rare enough. its war obviously you will come across many with kekkai genkai being that they have all congregated (smh) fail thread again.....

OT: Dust isn't a Kekkei Genkai, it's a Kekkai Touta. xd

Not all of them are rare, Sharingan and Byakugan are Kekkei Genkai, but a many people have them.

not anymore the only ones with sharingan are Madara Obito Sasuke Kakashi so now they really are rare
