Keeping Naruto being Minato's son a secret didn't make sense

I was doing some thinking...Didn't EVERYONE know that Konohamaru was the grandson of the Third Hokage who should have enemies as well? Why keep that Naruto's heritage a secret but not Konohamaru's?

I think Minato made a huge name for himself. A lot of people would target Naruto in fear of him becoming like his father in the future. Not to mention the Kyuubi.

I'm not really sure but I think Naruto got his mother's last name to keep him safe from intruders since he had the Kyuubi inside of him, and that was a very crucial time in Konoha and in the shinobi world overall, so they had to get rid of the Kyuubi. Uh, him being the son of Minato would not be an indication of him being a jinchuuriki. Plus, people who were outside the village like Tsunade already knew Naruto was a Jin.

Didn't they pick Kushinas surname to keep the Uzumaki clan alive, I believe Karin/naruto are the perhaps (?) last uzumakis alive?

OT: As many above has said, it probably had to do with Minato being so incredibly known. The comparison to Hiruzen & Konohamaru fades away due to Hiruzen's achievements during war and the people who lived to remember it probably are too old to care in current years.
