He doesn't, but eliminating them isn't an impossible task. As I already explained, Obito was knocking out KCM clones without much difficulty, while base Gai bested and out maneuvered that very same Obito in CQC. Nevermind Gai in the 7th gate, which forced a Jubi's Jin backwards. Not to mention, a single Hirudora would do a serviceable job in obliterating multiple clones at once.

Yeah I never said that eliminating them would be an issue.

Naruto going CQC is probably the dumbest thing he could do here. The only thing going for naruto is outlasting but chances are that Guy would end up beating the shit out of Naruto before that comes to play

Gai cannot hold up 7th Gates for long and with Naruto being able to let out these many clones.(

). Means Gai has little to no chance of hitting the real Naruto. Plus he could also disguise himself as a rock and with Gai not being a sensor he'll have no way to find out where Naruto is. Also he could use the boss toads as a distraction.​
