Substitution was too hax. As long as you had a log, you could get yourself out of any situation. Danzo's Izanagi was such a waste when he should have just became a substitution expert.

i think it became not worth it because evne though you replace yourself with a log, you go where the log was which is usually not very far away. when people started nuking villages, what use is there in going 30m away?
its a worse version of shunshin. why go through the effort of replacement when you can just dodge?
