It was a request not a commission so it makes sense. Why would he invest so much time and work for a request?

Even if it was a commission, anyone that has the slightest pride in his work will always strive for the best, especially if it is some sort of art or visual expression.
Don't you take pride in what you do? And when you do it, even if for others, wouldn't you want it to be flawless?
I am not buying it anyway. Even the margins aren't well cut, unless the «artist» got the render elsewhere, which is always a possibility.
If 123fire said, "This was done by me", he will eventually be supported. Look at Femme creations for example, her first few pieces weren't that good but she still got good critics. I am all for art and would never be cruel to a person that tries to create something in Photoshop because it is hard f* work.
Especially coloring a manga character. I tried it once, almost cried.

Why will it shut me up? Compared to his other works, it still looks like it was done by you. You aren't exactly a reference when it comes to good taste regarding manga art and judging the overall comments when it comes to this, he sure did a poor job but if you are happy, we are happy.
