Edo Tensei operates on a whole different level from what happened with Obito after he was rekt by Kaguya.
It is not actually a regeneration but a reappearence.
Regeneration is the enhanced version of that jutsu.

Its pretty obvious that the natural energy there is linked to the respective animal.
Toads naturally have it= Naruto Sage mode
Snakes naturally have it= Juggos power
Slugs have it too.

Explain why people who channel frog senjutsu would possibly turn into a frog, or Jiraya sage mode.
Juggo is basically a snake, and was vital to KAbuto's sage mode.
Which explains why Katsuyu needs the byakugou seal power to use medical ninjutsu, because Sage Mode and healing would be too powerful and probably cause rapid cellular mutiplication leading to death on the subject
