Fire Release, also known as Katon, is one of the basic elemental nature transformations.
Fire Release is the usage of superheated chakra to create flames and heat-intensive attacks. It's created through channeling Katon chakra to the users lungs and exhaling the built chakra in various forms. Fire Release consists of mid to long-ranged offensive techniques that cause combustive and explosive damage. It can be used in different ways by channelling the chakra through gun powder, ash, explosive tags or weapons. The usage of Fire Release can be considered dangerous due to it's wild nature, destructiveness and offensive capabilities.
Fire is strong against wind because the air feeds the flames, but weak against water because it cools down the flames. Fire can be used with Wind to increase the strength of a fire technique and could possibly even overcome the superior element of water. The heat of the element makes it capable of reducing earth to molten mud, although a doton wall of equal strength could block fire. The latter combination, namely fire and earth, is used for 'Yōton' or 'Lava Release'. Yōton is an advanced nature kekkei genkai that combines fire and earth-based chakra to create lava and other related substances.

An excellent explanation! ^_^ If you ever have a question feel free to ask. The first jutsu is a simple fireball. Since you've never molded katon chakra before try acquiring a strong mental image of the nature of fire (a description of fire's characteristics) and mold a portion of your chakra to mimic that nature. Then focus katon chakra into your lungs and exhale it as a small fireball at a dummy nearby.

As I prepare my stance, I press my palms together and close my eyes. Following Ushiro senpai's instructions, I picture the intensity of flames in my mind. Images of the flaming heat of the sun, a burning red sky and even a forest going up in flames flash before my eyes. A warm, gentle breeze gently flows through my hair. I can feel my entire body lighten up with energy moving upwards like fire itself. Slowly, but surely, I feel my chakra converting into fire natured chakra.
After molding my chakra into fire natured chakra, I start concentrating and channeling a portion of my fire chakra to my lungs. I feel the chakra flowing towards my lungs while my body starts feeling warmer. After building up enough fire chakra it starts to burn in my loins and I exert it through my lungs, exhaling a small fireball at a nearby dummy.

After looking around the area, I spot a few dummies behind me. I quickly grab five shurikens from my weapon pocket. As I hold the shurikens I start to focus in order to gather another portion of my heated chakra and infuse the shurikens with it. When I'm finished I quickly turn around and throw the fire infused shurikens at the dummies behind me. Through sheer force of will I ignite the shurikens right before they hit their targets, burning them on impact.

I think I'm getting the hang of this now...
Nicely done. Here's something a bit different. Perform the Snake, Ram, Monkey, and Tiger handseals before exhaling flammable gas at your target instead of fire. Ignite the gas with a fire jutsu to create a large fireball and set him ablaze. Find a dummy nearby.

( Katon: Kasumi Enbu no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Mist Blaze Dance Technique
I look for the nearest dummy and ready my stance. I inhale deeply and channel katon chakra to my stomach. While preparing my katon chakra I perform the hand seals Snake → Ram → Monkey → Tiger. I then exhale and spew a thin cloud of gas in front if me which starts to close in on the dummy. The gas spreads further and further while I gather more katon chakra into my lungs and release it, exhaling a small fireball into the gas and engulfing the dummy in flames.
( Katon no Jutsu ) - Fire Release Technique
I take a look at the three dummies on my right side which, strangely enough, slightly resemble Ushiro senpai. I start to concentrate and knead some katon chakra to my lungs while focusing on the dummy on the right. After building up enough fire chakra I release it, exhaling a small but powerful fireball at it.
I then focus my attention on the dummy in the middle. I repeat the process of gathering katon chakra, only this time instead of exhaling it, I focus the chakra in the palm of my right hand. My hand feels like it's starting to burn up. I clench my hand while making a punching motion towards the dummy, releasing a fireball at it.
I sigh as I look at the last standing dummy on the left. I continue to repeat the process of gathering katon chakra and coat both my hands with katon natured chakra. I run up towards the last dummy and strike it with both my palms, which knocks it back and forth while it starts to burn up slowly.
I hope I managed to execute the second technique correctly.

Great. About time we started doing sets of 3 jutsu. I'll also introduce new targets, the Six Paths of Pein. Now simply exhale a small, quick stream of flame at your target. Try it out.

For this jutsu, simply throw a lighter with a open flame and focus katon chakra on it, making the flame expand into a defensive wall of flame. Take this and block Pein's attack.

( Katon: Shōkasou ) - Fire Release: Small Fire Stream
As soon as Ushiro senpai finished his explanation one of the peins suddenly runs up towards me with a blade in his hand. With little time to react I quickly inhale deeply and gather katon chakra in my stomach. As the pein comes closer I quickly exhale and continuously release the chakra as a small stream of fire. As the pein runs deep into the stream of fire I disperse the flames and step aside to my right, making the pein collapse right next to me due to the heat of the flames.
(Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique
I focus my attention to the nearby dummies. As I prepare myself I form the necessary hand seals Snake->Ram->Monkey->Boar->Horse->Tiger and take a deep breath as I start to gather a large amount of katon chakra in my stomach. As I feel my body warming up I form the tips of my thumb and index finger into a ring and place it in front of my mouth. I start to exhale and blow my katon chakra from my mouth in the form of a stream of fire and sustain it as a gigantic ball of flames in front of me which comes into contact with the nearby dummies and incinerates them.
After finishing up with the nearby dummies I turn my attention to the group of dummies further away. Once again I perform the hand seals Snake->Ram->Monkey->Boar->Horse->Tiger and inhale deeply while gathering a large amount of katon chakra to my stomach. As soon as I feel ready to exhale I form a ring with my thumb and index finger and place it in front of my mouth. I exhale the gathered katon chakra and release it as a smaller ball of fire which flies towards the mid-ranged dummies and and completely destroys them.

I catch the lighter Ushiro senpai threw at me and notice all the paths of pein taking out a black spear. Fully knowing what to expect I switch the lighter on as the paths all start to hurl the spears at me. As the spears close in on me I look at the lighter and throw it in front of me. While the lighter is in the air I focus katon chakra on it and turn the open flame of the lighter into a protective wall of fire in order to stop the spears from fully reaching me.

Excellent. Here's a jutsu that comes in two forms, a burning trap and a projectile. After performing the Tiger handseal produce and manipulate fire streams running across the ground. They should surround the target in the form of a circle preventing escape. Alternately, with the same Tiger handeal, a fire stream can be exhaled and manipulated to form a ring-shaped fireball. Use both forms on this guy. Can't have my dinner getting away.

It can also be used in combination with Wind Release: Divine Wind to create a tornado of flames, or with Wind Release: Godly Wind from the Mountains to release a massive inferno. The stream of fire can be created by stomping the ground (running across the ground in this case) or by spewing the flames (which will form an airborne ring of flames that will travel towards the enemy).
Next, attach a long cord-like object to your target and perform the Snake, Dragon, Rabbit, and Tiger handseals. Then breathe fire along the cord causing the flames to rush toward and incinerate the target at the other end. The best method is to trap your target with ninja wire so it can't possibly miss its mark. Find a Pein around here.

A line of enemies can be used as the conductor as well. The flames are meant to target, and assault the enemy's upper body just like a projectile weapon.
For this jutsu simply perform the Tiger handseal and exhale a fire stream. Nothing new. That guy looks cold.

Knowing that this isn't the time to question why a giant crab is walking around the training ground I start by performing the Tiger hand seal and gathering katon chakra in my stomach. After gathering up enough katon chakra I release it and produce a stream of fire that runs across the ground. The stream of fire closes in on the crab as it tries to flee from the flames. While noticing that the crab is unusually fast I manipulate the stream of fire to split it into two seperate streams. The streams both spread in seperate directions and surround the crab, making it incapable of escaping.
As I see the giant crab running in circles trying to find an exit, I once again perform the Tiger handseal and gather more katon chakra in my stomach. As soon as I feel like I've gathered up enough chakra I exhale the chakra and manipulate it in the form of a ring. The ring-shaped fireball enters the flame circle and burns the crab until it falls into submission.
( Katon: Ryūka no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique
As I look around I see a pein close by which creepily stares at me. I quickly take out some ninja wire and trap the pein by fully covering him with it. I take a few steps back and perform the hand seals Snake → Dragon → Rabbit → Tiger as I tightly hold the cord and gather up katon chakra. Noticing that the pein is trying to break free I quickly release my katon chakra towards him by breathing fire along the wire itself, which ends up incinerating the pein.

In order to gain the attention of the statue-building peins I start to gather some katon chakra in my stomach while performing the handseals Rat → Tiger → Dog → Ox → Rabbit → Tiger. As I feel my katon chakra burning up my stomach I quickly snatch a couple of shurikens out of my weapon pocket. I exhale and manipulate my gathered katon chakra in order to release a volley of small fireballs and hastily conceal a few chakra-infused shurikens within them. As the flames start to close in on the peins I start to manipulate them all in order to change their direction which makes them fly towards the statues the peins had just finished building. The shurikens, however, kept flying towards their intented targets and hit the peins, leaving them with minor injuries as the statues start to burn up.

As I watched the statues burning I couldn't help but notice that I actually missed one of them. In order to destroy the final statue I once again gather some katon chakra in my stomach. After gathering up enough katon chakra I start to exhale and release the chakra as a small wave of flames. As soon as the flames close in on the statue I manipulate the flames and make them wrap around the statue like a cocoon which starts to light it up in a burning inferno.

I take a look at the Pein Ushiro-senpai pointed at and suddenly notice that he threw several shurikens towards me. I quickly jump into the air to avoid them and gather up some katon chakra to be able to retaliate. As the shurikens hit a nearby tree I start to exhale and release my gathered chakra in the form of several small fireballs which all start to rain down upon the Pein while I descend back to the ground and land on both my feet again.

I ready my stance and focus my attention towards the waving pein in the distance. After noticing that there is a considerable distance between me and the pein I start to gather some katon chakra in my stomach. After gathering up enough katon chakra I start to exhale and release the chakra as a small, bright fireball. The fireball travels a long distance towards the pein and eventually hits him making the hand he was waving with burn up.
( Katon: Karyū Endan ) - Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet
As I see the peins running for their lives I immediately decide to take action. I start to inhale very deeply and gather some katon chakra in my stomach while performing the handseals Ram → Horse → Snake → Dragon → Rat → Ox → Tiger. After I feel like I've accumulated enough chakra I exhale deeply and release my katon chakra as a thin stream of flames which starts to spread across the ground at great speed and even melts the ground as it starts to close in on the peins. The heated stream of fire eventually catches up to the peins and engulfs in flames which makes them all fall down.

I carefully act out the same execution as the previous mentioned technique and exhale a large amount of katon chakra in the form of a gigantic ball of flames which soars towards Ushiro's defense and hits it, destroying it partially due to it's high potency and strength.
( Katon: Gōenkyū ) - Fire Release: Great Blaze Ball
As I ready myself in order to perform the next jutsu one of the peins suddenly stares at me as if it was challenging me. I calmy start to gather katon chakra and channel the chakra to my stomach. While preparing my katon chakra I perform the hand seals Horse → Tiger. As soon as I felt ready I started to exhale deeply and release a large amount of katon chakra in the form of a incredibly dense, giant an solid fire sphere. The pein put his hands in front of him and attempted to catch the sphere, but in contrary it actually started to carry him in the stream of the fire. The sphere went on in a straight line and destroyed some of the surrounding forestation. The sphere and the pein eventually both hit a nearby mountain and the pein was caught in a massive explosion.

Excellent. Here's something new. After performing four handseals, gather katon chakra in your lungs and exhale it, converting the chakra into burning ash instead of fire. The ash would hang in the air around your target like a cloud. Then by clicking your teeth or through other means, the ash is ignited and the target engulfed in a flaming explosion. In addition to its offensive potential, this tehnique may also serve as a hazardous smokescreen choking the target and discouraging he use of certain elements like lightning and fire. However, you will also be at risk of having the ash blown back at you by wind jutsu or getting caught in the explosion if you're too close. End this party with a bang!

Next, simply exhale a few large fireballs at your target. These resemble dragon heads and when they're shot into the sky, the extreme heat of the fireballs can cause thunderclouds to form overhead which may be used to perform Kirin. Most fire jutsu B rank and above can do this if they have a long range. Try it out.

Description: The user spews superheated ash from their mouth after performing four handseals. The ash is hot enough to cause third-degree burns on the victim. Because it's composed entirely of ash, it stays in the air around the victim like a cloud. If the user clicks his teeth, the stagnant ash will ignite, creating a violent explosion.
Next, simply exhale a few large fireballs at your target. These resemble dragon heads and when they're shot into the sky, the extreme heat of the fireballs can cause thunderclouds to form overhead which may be used to perform Kirin. Most fire jutsu B rank and above can do this if they have a long range. Try it out.
