Then let's begin with the basics. What is fire? What is fire in the narutoverse? How does fire interact with the other elements (not just the strengths and weaknesses, but how it would interact with all the other elements, and why it would be strong/weak to its strengths and weaknesses)? What are three fire techniques and fire users (outside of the Uchiha clan) in the cannon manga? You can add anything else you know about fire relating to the real world or the naruto world here, if you like, but I'd like you to at least answer those questions. Try not to look up Katon on Narutowiki, I want to see what you actually know. Narutowiki is good for clarifying techniques when you're fighting so you know what's coming at you, and what exactly you're using against it.
-Fire is a state in which fuel is combined with oxygen and given off as heat for example. In Narutoverse it is one of the five basic elements and is commonly utilized by the Uchiha clan of Konohagakure also known as the land of fire, implying to the fact there a lot of Katon users in the village.
- Katon is stronger than wind, the reason behind this is that wind is the air therefore it contains oxygen, since fire relishes oxygen, wind is determined as inferior. Katon is however weaker to water, the simple reason behind this is because water extinguishes the flames by separating oxygen from it. Katon can also be used alongside wind to carry the flames over distances.
- Three main users of Katon are Jiraiya, Oonoki and Muu, the 3 Katon techniques that I know off are Amaterasu, Fireball Jutsu and the Flame Bullet.
- Katon is also a substance required in a few Kekkai Genkai, them being Boil Release where it is combined with Suiton hence the name being "boil", Dust release where it is used alongside Fuuton and Doton and Lava Release where it is combined with Doton.
Alright, well, aside from the fact that neither Oonoki nor Mu have ever been seen using Katon, it is just known that their Kekkei Tota is comprise of Fire, Wind, and Earth, that was good.
Now, I want you to meditate on fire. Tell me how fire affects your five senses, what happens to an object in constant contact with fire, and if fire were an emotion, what would it be? When you're done, I want you to sit down before this fire, feel the heat, meditate upon the properties of fire; become one with the flame. Afterwards, we'll begin with some simple techniques.
*I expel a small fireball from my mouth onto the ground before you, the power of chakra-infused flame catching the grass on the ground to form a small fire. I then create a clone to gather wood for the fire so it stays strong when it comes time for you to meditate.*
( Katon: Komakai Kaki ) - Fire Release: Small Fire
Rank: D
Type: Offense
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: The user spews a small fireball.
(Kage Bunshin no Jutsu) - Shadow Clone Technique
Rank:B
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short
Chakra Cost:20
Damage Points:N/A
Description: The Kage Bunshin distributes the ninja's chakra evenly among the clones and creates a real copy with form and substance. The clone itself can also utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows. When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained is passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones. Upon impact, the clone can be dispersed.
I did what you said in a different order sorry :|
Listening to my Senpai's words I cautiously move towards the fire, not too close though as it has the potential set me ablaze once I do this, I then decide to fold my hands and sit down attempting to loosen my mind, as soon as I start to feel I'm one with fire. I decided to note down the characteristics of fire according to my Senpai's words. The fire although it looks threatening, feels very soothing and makes my numb body relaxed. The sounds I hear are somewhat like crackling to me. The material which is burning which I think is wood in this instance affects the smell of fire not purely fire as it contains no odour, the smell is quite mild though. I don't wish to try to taste Katon as it will burn my tongue and mouth, sorry Senpai. I don't think it tastes of anything like above however. If fire was an emotion it would be somewhat related to commitment just as we use in real life. For example, Someone could say "You're on fire". This is a metaphor to show how dedicated you are to your works. What do you think Senpai?
That was pretty good. And just so you know, my friend and I have come up with a fairly good theory as to what fire could taste like; first, it would feel like cotton candy in your mouth, almost like a substance at first, but then dissipating to nothingness. It would also have the taste of char, the black stuff one would scrape off of burnt chicken or other meats.
Anyhow, onto your first justu:
So, for this one, you're be performing something I call the "Exhalation Method". You will need to inhale, mix katon chakra with the air you inhaled, and then exhale the air. As the chakra-infused air enters the non-chakra-infused air, the powerful heat from the katon chakra causes your air to spontaneously combust into a ball of flame, which you can from there control with shape manipulation. So, I want you just to focus on building up chakra within your solar plexus, moulding it into a hot, flame-like entitiy, and then inhaling. Then move your newly-formed katon chakra into your lungs, mixing it with the air. Then I want you to exhale the chakra-air, letting the chakra in the air combust like it wishes to, becoming a ball of fire. Give it a try!

First, I attempt to concentrate my chakra making it build up gradually, once I am finished, I start to feel the Katon overwhelming my consciousness so I start to inhale the air around me thus creating a mixture of Katon and the oxygen, then the heat of the Katon chakra kicks in and transforms the mixture into excessively hot flames due to the contact with oxygen, after this I manipulate the shape of this Katon chakra into a sphere and expel it through the mouth instantaneously.
That was excellent, and I'm glad I was at least able to get you past the meditation, "what is fire" stage of your training... For you see, Migualon J.J., the sensei I senpai under, had decieded to resign from sensei-ing, and so I'm being forced into retirement for the moment. I'm glad I was able to teach you what I could, and I hope you at least have a good understanding of fire now that we've gone through the meditative process...
To your future teacher, you know how to use that previous technique; you did well. For you, consider this a formal good-bye as teacher and student. I hope you can find someone to finish your katon training for you and that you have fun doing it!
My only regret is that I was not more active to post here... I'll talk to you later.
