It's implied that Oro suspected she had the ability but even she was unaware that she could use it.

Karin couldn't do it until her precious Sauce dropped out of the living realm. That's how Kishi chose to play it and if you hate that then fine. But don't be like "Oh she could have kicked Bee's butt why didn't she?"
