I think with training absolutely, she was just used for her sensory abilities. However, she's shown unique talent with the chains and probably has high chakra reserves.

I think she'd make a good host, but I also think she wouldn't be as strong headed. People with tailed beasts sealed inside of them are considered outcasts and I think that would have affected her in the same way it did Naruto. I think she would have trained.
