Personality: He's cold and mysterious. Because of his bloody past, he doesn't like to talk and don't like to have bonds with people. People who met him says he's scary. Don't mind about money or loyalty, only thinking about his own well-being before doing things.

Background Info.
History:
Born at June 22 during Third Mizukage's tenure, his mother died while giving birth. His father hated him for this and started to ignore him. Because of it, Kani swore to himself that he wouldn't care anymore about his house and start to focus on his training. When Yagura assumed as Mizukage, Kani began his hateful training, passing the "Bloody Mist Admission Exam" at the age of 10.
During this time, he met the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. Wanting to be one of them, he started to train hard. At first, they saw him only as the other Swordsmen fanboys of the Mist, but, seeing his potential, the Seven Swordsmen decided to take him seriously.
At the Hidden Mist, Kani made a friend, Iroku, a boy who also had the dream to become one of the SSoM and be acknowledged by the village. Iroku and Kani grew up as best friends, like brothers.
Together with Iroku, Kani was accepted by the SSoM to become one of their apprentices. Kani, during the time he spent with the Swordsmen, created his own sword, Kanitsume (カニ爪, Crab Claw).
However, during a mission, the things went terribly bad. When he and Iroku were finishing a recognition mission on the Land of Earth, they were ambushed by Iwagakure ninja, despite the war had ended some years ago. During this fight, a Iwa-nin launched a kunai that passed by Kani's nose and made his scar.
Kani and Iroku were holding the things well, until Konohagakure ninja arrived, between them Kakashi Hatake, who at that time was an ANBU. In the cross-fire, impossible to distinguish who was the enemy, Kani suddenly saw, just 5 meters at his front, Kakashi Hatake using his Chidori on Iroku's chest.
Taken by the anger, Kani slaughtered every person in front of him madly, unthinkingly. Kakashi with the other Konoha-nin retreated, leaving Kani mourning his best-friend's death.
Over his best friend's corpse, Kani made a second vow. He swore to himself that he'll never make any other bond with people, because if the bond between two people is severed, both of them feel much pain.
Kani, so, wanting to sever his bonds, flew from Kirigakure and never came back.
He's still wandering, adrift, for the Ninja Countries, carrying his sword. He doesn't want revenge or justice. Just peace on himself.

- Kani (カニ) means "crab" and Ryokucha (緑茶) means "green tea"; like all members of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, his surname is derived from a type of produce.
