The twins are brown skinned with long dark hair which they keep up in buns. They each have colorful oni tattoos each on their left upper arms. They normally dress in white garb consisting of white halter tops and white harem pants. They also wear red steel plated geta. The petals in Kana’s hair have senbon at the ends useable in battle.
Personality:
Kana and Kimi strive for the protection of each other and their survival above all. Being raised in near isolation made them quite close even by twin standards. While they are a bit stand-offish they do have personalities which distinguish them. Kimi has little patience and can be a bit of a firecracker when she’s had enough. It is not abnormal to see her relieve her anger by acting out violently. Kana is more calm and tries to keep Kimi in check if need be. She does not act out much, but does what she has to when she must. If that includes violence, that is just fine with her. The twin’s fiercest loyalties are to one another and each will defend the other to the death even if they are wrong.

Background Info.
History:
Kana and Kimi were born in Otagakure. Their birth was quite difficult and their mother Nariko perished soon after the delivery. As she held them she begged their father Arata to keep their existence a secret for fear of them being taken and used for experiments. It was suspected that they might possess the extremely rare Kekkai Genkai Souma no Ko. Arata relocated the family to a small village and started training them in secret when they were five years old when he was not away on missions. They progressed quickly and after a year were adorned with the traditional tattoos of their family signifying a rite of passage. Not long afterwards there was a raid on their town. Many homes were pillaged and lives were lost. During the attack Arata was away on a mission. Though the girls were talented, they hadn’t had any real combat experience and were no match for the attacking group and as a result they were kidnapped.
Besides the twins other women and children were stolen from the village. They traveled around for months with the bandits and occasionally they met with other shady dealers and people were sold off. They weren’t to speak to anyone especially when they traveled to lands where their existence needed to be concealed. Then on a dark night their caravan halted. Moon beams peeped through the branches and a carriage approached them. A conversation was had between the leaders of the two caravans and soon the girls were taken and put onto the other caravan. The girls were completely alone and terrified as the caravan took off. That night they held each other tighter than ever before. As they took comfort in each other’s embrace their flesh melded into one. As the girls saw this they were afraid, but they’d also never felt closer and didn’t let go. They kept this secret but continued to practice when they would. After a few weeks they could meld half of their bodies together. One day they were taken off of the carriage and put onto a boat. The boat ride lasted a few more weeks and when they saw land there was a thick shroud of mist hovering above the surface. When they made port the girls were taken to a smoky house and sat down in front of a woman called Madame. They were traded again right then and there to a brothel.
They spent five years in the brothel but never allowed themselves to be touched. During the days they would practice their Souma no Ko, their basic ninja skills, and even began creating techniques of their own. During the nights when their services were requested they used genjutsu to fool the clients into thinking their desires were being fulfilled. Year after year continued like this. They did not know but the whole time Arata never stopped looking for them. On his journey he finally got a tip from a bar patron in a village not too far from the brothel. He went and asked for the girls specifically. When they were reunited the girls had nearly forgotten his face but they’d never forgotten his voice. The reunion was brief however because Arata wanted to remove the girls as soon as possible. They’d never left themselves because they had no idea where they were or where to go. The twins walked to the exit with their father where they met with Madame. The girls pointed their tattoos at Madame and said
Kana and Kimi: We will be leaving with this gentleman.
Madame dumbfounded, stepped aside and let them pass. The family dashed into the woods and traveled the night on foot getting as far away as they could. After a couple of days traveling the three of them reached Kirigakure. They were met on the outskirts by Kiri ninja and asked to state their purpose. Arata explained their situation and reminded them of Orochimaru’s invasion of Konoha. He did not want to send his daughters back to Otagakure and hoped the Mizukage would have compassion and allow his family to take refuge in Kirigakure. While they had reserves the ninja felt for the girls and decided to let the Mizukage choose their fate. In the Mizaukage’s office, Arata relayed their tale once again. Seeing the worry in their father’s face the twins rose and showed the Mizukage their Kekkai Genkai. After years of training they could meld perfectly with either twin being the dominant body. Arata looked on astonished and happy that he’d hidden them away. Upon seeing the technique the Mizukage simply said
Mizukage: “The girls can stay.”
The family got to spend one more night together. The next day Arata was sent on his way vowing to see the girls again. The twins were enrolled in Kirigakure’s ninja academy immediately and trained intensively by Kiri’s standards. They graduated soon after and were quickly placed into a squad to begin their ninja career and one day be reunited with their father.
