Manga Fact - Obito can only become intangible for a consecutive 5 minutes.

Doesn't that mean he can only spend 5 minutes in his dimension as he uses that to become intangible?

Hasn't he spent more than 5 minutes with Kakashi in Kamui dimension?

nope, when he's trying to evade an attack he can stay max 5 min the other dimension.
But when he teleports his whole body into it, he can stay as long as he wants.

When he uses Kamui in battle his body is still in the real dimension, whatever is in contact with a harmful force automatically phases into the Kamui dimension. Because of this; his body parts are constantly phasing in and out of the Kamui dimension. He is only limited to 5 minutes when using it in a severe battle instance such as when he fought Konan in which his entire body was phasing back and forth for a long time.

just kidding heh hehe on a serious note From what i understand Obito can stay in his dimension as long as he wants as long as he remains tangible. He can only utilize his INTANGIBILTY (i.e, attacks flying through him and therefor sending parts of his body to the other dimension) for 5mins.

Why didn't Obito just phase completely into the Kamui dimension and stay there?

If you read what konan says, she mentions that obito can only stay intangible for 5 mins. When obito goes intangible, his body is in two dimensions at once, that obviously has an effect on him & therefore he cant do it for too long. But when he's in his dimension he can stay there for as long as he wants, if that wasnt the case then sasuke, karin, fuu, & torune wouldn't be able to chill there.

He needs to become tangible to teleport himself. You can see in the konan vs obito fight that obito was trying to teleport away, but he couldnt because of the paper bombs. So he resorted to izanagi
