So, I was reading that fight with tobi(right before it was shown that he was obito), when kakashi explained how obito was using kamui. The way he uses it to avoid atacks, it makes no sense. He sends a part of his body into another dimmension, so it's in a diferent location in space-time form where the rest of his body is. Basically, he rips of a part of his body, so he should've be killed if he sent his chest to another place, becuase when he does that, he takes it of his own body. The only way kamui should be used is sending objects or sending the whole body to the other dimmension.
I think that as a bit plot no jutsu. Do you agree?

Well maybe its a lot like the Izanagi, one ultimate genjutsu. He controls the parts of his body going to another dimension; so anything that is disadvantages to him he sends to another dimension (bending reality, Izanagi style) while anything advantages to him he keeps in everyone's reality (keeping reality).

Obito's jutsu and Izanagi make about as much sense as each other.

I don't think so. Remember that kakashi also has kamui, and we've seen him using it to vanish deidara's arm. The effect wasn't the same, mostly because it hurt deidara like hell. Also, kakashi can't bring back stuff from that dimension.

Well spotted contradiction, Wolfus.

Humm, maybe. But izanagi changes reality, like you said, but kamui doesn't seem to do that, it just move objects to another dimmension, it's a space-time jutsu, not a "bending reality" jutsu. And if it was like that, people wouldn't manage to hit in in another dimmension.

Kamui is a s/t right?

Maybe reality is altered, so like it's an after mirage?

Or maybe he has pain tolerance?

Or it varies between offensive use of defensive uses....

I don't know..
