He completely vanished but that shouldn't be possible as we have seen with Konan. He is vulnerable while using a whole body kamui.

The bugs where just holding him in place, isn't there a scene where he sucks himself into kamui in front of them but like covers his face with his hand? He probably did the same thing under the bugs, thus the "disappearing"

konan's explosions were simultaneous basically like trying to dodge rain outside. It's a lot faster phasing through bugs instantly than it does explosions.

The only reason Obito couldn't Kamui against Konan was because he had to materialize to do so, and her bombs were strong enough to do some damage in that little time.

Here the same happened, except Shino's bugs were weak, so it didn't matter that he was hit a few times while using it.
