Without KA, it's pretty hard for Danzo to get through Domu. Unless Danzo has access to Sharingan Genjutsu, as to fool Kakuzu into dropping Domu, and destroying his earth heart, then Kakuzu wins every time.

He could:

-stab Kakuzu through the eyes with chakra blade.
-use Baku enhanced fuuton which sliced through V3 Susanoo.

Theres also the fact that if Kakuzu uses Domu to completely harden his body he can't move and is vulnerable to sharingan genjutsu (can't avoid eye contact)

Kakuzu wins mid diff. He has great offense and Defense, and would quickly burn through the Izanagi like Sasuke did.

when did Danzo breach any version of the susano'o? I don't recall that at all. even if Danzo sealed kakuzu's main body, kakuzu could detach his hearts/arm like he did against shikamaru's shadow possession. the seal is very irrelevant against kakuzu.

right, but all that did was immobilize the susano'o. His kunai snaps in half when he tries to pierce the susano'o and then he gets swatted like a fly by the susano'o. I don't remember him ever cracking it or getting through it. Is that not what happened?

The scan BLAZE posted shows a hole in Susanoo's back. That hole was made by the Fuuton. It's either Chapter 479 or 480 if you want to read it. Bold is wrong. The seal covers his entire body, so detaching pierces doesn't change the fact he's bound. He can't even detach pieces of his body as he's bound.

So he gets immobilized and slaughtered.

Kakuzu had already buried his arm before being possessed by the shadow. How do you know he wouldn't premtively do that here as well? It seems like a rational thing to do. Half the time he fought with his hearts detached anyways.

He knew about Shikamaru's ability there. The same does not apply here. His hearts being detached and his limbs being detached are not the same thing, but let's go ahead and say that he does this anyway. Then what? His body is still bound and his arm can't do anything to Danzo on it's own.

This fight is only won by Danzo if he can eliminate Kakuzu's own, in-chedt heart, as this is the heart that offers him his Domu defense. Danzo also needs time to unseal his arm to utilize his Izanagi arm (he would never forfeit kotoamatsukami first).

Kakuzu wins through sheer zoning of his opponent, with Baku only offering reprieve enough to serve as a sacrifice to buy time to unseal his arm (it would be defeated by the beasts). At this point it comes down to how well Danzo could ration his izanagi vs how well Kakuzu could keep up Domu while his beasts launch attacks at Danzo. Kakuzu has a generations more experience than Danzo, in addition to a fresher body and a more diverse ability set. I think Kakuzu wins more times than he loses.

Wow. I rewatched the episode since I didn't remember it (I don't really read the manga) but it was there too. For some reason I didn't remember him puncturing it, but he definitely did. In the scan I wasn't sure if there was an actual hole there sorry.

his fuuton is meant for cutting chakra defense and Baku's suction from opposite direction enhanced it

Fūton: Shinkūha and Fūton: Shinkū Renpa

Danzo's strong point is to use a variety of Fuuton. From the mouth one spurts out sharp breath, like the Kamaitachi*, at the target's body, chakra defenses are torn to pieces. On occasion "Shinkū Renpa" released by a large breath that is vomited out, the Susnao'o defense is succesfuly destroyed by a disastrous impregnable attack that's like a Kamaitachi herd.

Shinkū Renpa releases a kamaitachi towards the opponent's body, chakra is cut down! A animal can be summoned to utilize it's power, which increases it's strength.

You're right, he doesn't know he would be cursed with no prior intel. If he was caught with all hearts in his body (beginning of fight) he might lose if danzo could finish him off quickly. If they are already separate, The other hearts would interfere and protect Kakuzu, they would not just sit idly by if he was paralyzed so danzo would need to fight them. The seal is also breakable, sasuke broke out with his chakra. Meaning that while Danzo is being held off by the other hearts for a short duration, Kakuzu could break free. this is written in the fourth databook:

Similar to the Cursed Tongue Eradication Seal, this seal can also be applied during combat, and can secretly be placed on the opponent's body. When the user activates it, the curse seal's marks spread around the opponent's body, paralysing them. However, one can break free from the seal with a strong enough release of chakra.

This seal is not an instant win for Danzo vs an opponent like Kakuzu because of his ability to have 4 other bodies to defend the main one.

I did see it but wasn't convinced until I rewatched the episode just now that it was indeed a hole. For some reason I had zero memory of Danzo actually breaking through the susano'o at that scene, it was my bad. On a side note, I think that your konans face on your avatar matched the "Bro do u literally not see the scan?" perfectly.
