Furthermore, Madara had regeneration active, which mitigated the damage that we saw. Remember how fast Tsunade healed from Susano'o sword to the gut? The wounds Madara received probably began closing up immediately upon reception, thus by the time he emerged from the dust, the damage we actually see is reduced.
