Is he? I mean I saw people calling this ancient, battle hardened, near immortal, Bijū hunter and master bounty hunter with every Element and several decades of experience, a fodder. Really.
He easily equals the likes of Kisame to me. So is he underrated?
Well, the word fodder gets tossed around like a football on here, which is pretty stupid anyway, so...

Yes, he does equal Kisame. Yes, he is an excellent shinobi. Underrated? Only a bit. Certain members on here have made sure that he would not remain... Underrated.

As for you, I demand an Orochimaru or Kabuto thread! Possibly Hanzo or Danzo too.

It took several members to defeat Kakuzu with medium difficulty, but people call him overrated because he was outsmarted by a natural trickster.

Anyone who died before Itachi in shippuden is automatically labeled as a fodder for dying early, when in reality it was almost entirely plot based in each of their deaths.

Many characters become forgotten after they cease to become important character in the manga.
It's not that they underrate him, its just that not a lot cares about him anymore.

OT: I completely agree, he's definitely on par with Kisame and he's highly underrated around here. Kakuzu is someone who can be argued to fit in the top 15, he's at least top 20 IMO

He's pretty underrated, I mean he survived a battle with Hashirama. The Hashirama that took on Kurama, AND Madara. He's EASILY one of the strongest in the Akatsuki.

He has blood, do you not recall Shikamaru's plan and how he fooled Hidan into enjesting Kakuzu's blood and then killing Kakuzu[Once]?
