Your right about the kakuzu having an element advantage. However having all those elements still doesn't make kakuzu a match for the 1st IMO, remember naruto (base) and kakashi defested kakuzu, I'm pretty sure the 1st wouldn't have much of a problem.
-The 1st also has an extremely powerful illusions such as the Bringer-of-Darkness Technique.
-His healing ability (No hand signs)
-Wood element, which can completely change the battlefield to favour him.
-He must be pretty gd at sealing technique to get kurama out of control of Madara.
-Plus he has his other elements water and earth.
-He can also control tailed beast, meaning if he had kurama at the time that kakuzu would fight him he may be able to use the nine-tails to help him.
If you look at the feats of the 1st they completely dwarf what kakuza has done.
-Beat Madara plus Kurama. Madara had the EMS, Madara also has the apparent advantage vs wood.
-Controlled all the tailed beasts.
-Look at the impact that the wood element had vs the 5 Kage's
-Kabuto and Madara have been talking about how great he is. 'Kabuto claimed that Hashirama's might was so vast, there weren't any shinobi in the current era that could match his level of power. It was such that many considered his prowess to be a mere fairy tale much like the existence of the Sage of the Six Paths.'
-Created a hidden village, he must have been powerfull for everyone to follow him.
-Look how strong Yamoto is even though he only has a tiny fraction of the 1st power.
