Kakuzu's threads are either controlled through the input of chakra, or controlled by being attached to his chakra network at all times U_U
However its hard to prove either >.>

Anyways how many threads could Neji break by using this method? As Kakuzu can stack hundreds on top of each other, so it may be hard for him to break something that thick U_U

I don't think that barrier is kinjutsu though. Although maybe Neji can see alot of chakra point of those hearts, considering how Danzo's Sharingan arm looks in Byakugan vision.[

However, at the time he only had 3 hearts. Here he starts fresh.
Asuma dies, Neji tanks one blast but will eventually be eletrocuted o>o
Kakuzu can attack three times before going on cooldown, use his threads to keep his distance or throw a Domu punch. He can still be overwhelming w/o attacking from every angle.

Gentle fist can destroy anything related to chakra, which includes domu. since its just making his skin hard. It has already been stated in the manga, no matter how much you train your body, you cannot train your inner organs. The only way to counter gentle fist is to make sure the hits don't connect with the body. Its not debatable.

Don't know Ur ignoring it or really don't understand it let me tell U this again "Neji needs to overpower Domu to reach his internal points." He can't do anything to Kakuzu as long as it is protecting his body. simple as that.

What is Domu? Domu is using earth chakra to harden the persons skin to be as hard as diamond. He is just enhancing his bodily traits with chakra no similar to how akimichis enhance their size or how inuzukas enhance their smell with chakra. Its not a layer of something protecting him from the blows, its just his skin being hardened to be able to withstand blows that would otherwise damage him.

Again I will reiterate: "no matter how much you train your body, you cannot train your inner organs" This fighting style will fell anyone no matter how hard their exterior or how powerful their body including people like the third raikages mega tough skin(without lightning armor) or Naruto's SM enhanced body.
