Probably Gai will win...simply because he can fight without looking at an opponent's eyes. Kakashi is equally skilled in all fighting metodes, while Gai is specialized in taijutsu only.Gai will force Kakashi to stay in melee rage of him.And I think even tough Kakashi has chidori Gui's speed is superior and on top of that Gui can unlock those damn gates.
And speaking of EMS Kakashi can't do his techique because it takes time to focus on it and it can easily be canceled.

I think kakashi wins. because of his intelligence and fighting style
most of the ones who say guy'll win, say it basing it on gates. however kakashi has a reputation of deceieving his opponents with clones and replacements. there's always a chance that kakashi would use a clone. and opening the gates put a lot of strain to the body so guy cannot use those gates against kakashi that easliy. if he does he'll lose because of exhausting himself. if he doesn't kakashi will owerpower him.

Yes he used it to stop something as small and usignificant as a nail.But he barely uses it vs Deidara he even required alot of time to start the technique not to mention he couldnt aim with it very well

they can't really fight cause if Gai opens the gates he will brake his bones and for what !? plus Kakashi can't use Kamui on him cause it will obviously kill him so i don't see this fight happening !
kakashi stated himself that he couln't properly control the location and the size of the barrier limiting the area location that time , and yes he needed time for preparation ...got an arm from a flying and escaping target on very long range is something that 99% of ninjas couln't do it by running.by the way ,that was like 300 chapter ago man.

if you look the fight against tendou , he didn't need time for preparation and it was almost instant hit .
then when sasuke tried to kill kakashi it was even harder, still no preparation and the size of the susanoo arrow is like 2 human body big.
an other thing that proof that kakashi has he potential to kamui a body is that he was just going to do it to tobi.

What if it was 300 chapters ago is not like Kakashi trained or had any fights in which he used his Kamui. And with Pein had more than enough time to prepare...just after that shinra tensei he might have channeling his chakra to awaken the MS and ready up to use Kamui.

against deidara he activated some minut ago ,yes since 300 chapter lot fo thing changed .
Against pein he activated in the last moment t when tendo throw the nail.
Against sasuke he activated in a fraction of second when sasuke throw the susanoo arrow.
your points are wrong , kakashi don't need time of preparation the most evident proof was the susanoo arrow.
