Kakashi's Sharingan

I'm a little confused about something.

Kakashi's sharingan is always activated correct?
At least we can assume this by asserting this is one of the
reasons he always wears a mask covering it.

Now, isn't it when you have your sharingan activated too
long you waste a ton of chakra.

So, if his sharingan is always activated then
wouldn't he be constantly wasting chakra?

no because he covers it up with his mask most of the time, so it isnt usually activated

So in other words, hiding the sharingan's field of vision
put's it in an "off" mode?

I was thinking of that, but it sounded to simplistic
so I didn't want to assume it yet.

well it may be using chakra but not that much as if he would be actually using his dojutsu...
it may be an explanation of why kaskashi's chakra pool is poor

i disagree with above post wile not using it in battle save some the fact that it is always active will burn some

Oh and btw, if u paid attention to Tobi, his sharingan and rinnegan are always active... it means that these are implanted as kakashi's sharingan...
plus, another person with implanted eyes is Nagato (according to Tobi's statement) and his rineegan was always activated...
so, lol, tobi and nagato had pretty decent chakra pool?
