[Theory] Kakashi's purpose. possible spoilers BEWARE.

]This is far fetched and i doubt its validity but a friend of mine pointed out "what if the only reason Kakshi is alive and still relevant is because he is the reincarnation of Hagoromo? Now hear me out. He went the same route as the sage favoring Sasuke (Indra) over Naruto (Ashura) he represents the balance of Naruto's idealism and Sasuke's pessimism. At this stage in Kakashi's life like Hagoromo he is choosing to believe in Naruto just as the sage believes in Ashura. I believe that if Kakashi IS the sage he will die helping bring Kaguya down fixing his past life's mistake and correcting the current life's mistake and heal the rift of team 7 as his final act. Once accomplished and Kaguya is brought down the reincarnation cycle will end and only Ashura and Indra will remain of the ootsuski bloodline (ik i missed spelled the name but i do not care in looking it up) So as the NB community what do yall think?

If the sage favored av soon it was Ashura not Indra since he made Indra his successor. He saw more potential in Asia to lead the world than he did Indra is what I'm saying so honestly if say he favored neither he just did what he thought was best.

I think that they both reflect a common theme throughout the series, the theme of questioning whether it is better to be realistic or idealistic, and eventually seeing that optimism and cooperation is the best way to make the world a better place.

Other characters do that. Jiraiya constantly wondered about it. Tobirama made the decision by choosing Hiruzen as third. Neji's entire character was about letting go of pride and embracing self-sacrifice. Nagato. Etc.
