Probably more focused. His chidori/raikiri was all over the place.

Without sharingan Kakashi can't perform chidori so he created a new less powerful jutsu purple lightning

I think it doesn't but more so creates a sort of lightning aura which is spread out giving Kakshi extra protection.

Chidori/Raikiri needed a certain speed to use which gave tunnel vision. Purple lightning don't need that activation.

I guess it's less powerful so it doesn't produce much of a tunnel vision like chidori, but we'll only know for sure when plot explains it.

The sharingan is only used to eliminate tunnel vision during high speed movement. It's not even needed for chidori/raikiri, though less effective. Purple lightning on the other hand is fully effective even without high speed movement.

That's the opposite of how it works. Chidori doesn't create the tunnel vision, the speed the user needs to run at for chidori to be effective creates the tunnel vision.

A new Chidori-like jutsu that doesn't require the sharingan would need to be more powerful so that less speed is required.

He doesn't have to go at high speed to use it

This is the only thing that makes sense.

I was arguing this earlier, but people think tunnel vision is applied with Chidori instantaneously. It's really determined by how fast they run in accompanied with the Chidori which grants the tunnel vision.

For example Kakashi can walk and use Raikri, it just wouldn't be as effective. I do hope they explain how Shinden works though in a data-book or something. It seems far too versatile than Raikri at this point to be neglected.

Or it could have a ranged(distance) application to it allowing for extra safety while using it.

running fast doesn't mean you have to make it less powerful

rather he made adjustments so that he doesn't need to run

1) doesn't need to charge and can tune outpu
2) no hand signs needed

he can take out an opponent more quickly without the need to run after them which eventually causes tunnel vision

Google what tunnel vision is. Google how is chidori activated. Close the thread.

Just kidding. But yeah, google that.

Chidori requires running a mile to be powerful; not raikiri. Raikiri can be used instantly and the speed isnt required to make it powerful.

So my question is why are you guys gauging Purple Lightning’s potency based on a match designed to test not kill?

I mean that’s like asking why Kakashi didn’t kill Naruto And Sakura with the Water Dragon Jutsu during their 2nd Bell Test. It must be weak since they shrugged it off.
