If you've payed attention to the last two chapters. It shows Obito interviening in the fight against the Hidden Mist.
Kakashi passed out after the Mangekyo's activation. That right there was a mistake on the Leaf's part.
Had Obito not stumbled on the battlefield, Kakashi would have been taken to the Hidden Mist, interrogated, until death, and his Sharingan would have been taken. That's Konaha's most renowned clan's power being in enemy hands. Like Ao's Byakugan. Danzo wanted to kill him and take it back.
The fact Kakashi killed Rin, and the Hidden Mist shinobi prompting another to get her body and not Kakashi's. One can only infer that Rin was a spy from the Hidden Mist. Kakashi found this out... Followed her, kinda like Naruto followed Sasuke after he decided to defect to Orochimaru. He knew what secrets she could've acquired during her time in the Leaf. It made sense to kill her if he was surrounded by that many Hidden Mist shinobi.
Obito saved Kakashi by killing the Hidden Mist shinobi, then left him alive... When he could have taken back his Sharingan and killed Kakashi for what he did to Rin.
To make this short. Kakashi and the Hidden Leaf owes everything to Obito. But nobody knew what he did because he left the scene making it seem like Kakashi killed the enemy shinobi.
I wouldn't be surprised if Kakashi switches sides at the last minute. It's worth thinking about.
