Its not new, its the same thing. The anime only changed the look of it to make the red on the inside and black on the outside like how Sasuke's is.
It could just be a mistake.

is it out of the realm of posibility thats what the eye looks like once its light begins to fade? As the MS is known to do, after repeated use/since it has been awakened. I mean Kakashi mentioned it to itachi since before he used Kaumi in shippuden. I beleive.

you know i noticed that when itachi fought sasuke hes vision wuss blury for a moment! mayb it is fading!!
do u think itachi's Sight actually went bad?? an if sasuke got the transplant? would he be blind 2??

I thought it only faded if it was your original eye, as Kakashi's was transplanted, it may not fade the same as a Uchiha originals would.

It was definitely a mistake,they possibly didn't have the right color for his sharingan all they had was sasukes sharingan color.
