Though sometimes when Kakashi gets too excited, Kishi draws an expression pushing the mask backwards, revealing a sort of "mold" for showing what the face may be shaped as.

Yes, but the animators havein the episode where his ninja dogs try to describe his face. We've seen several inaccurate versions. :/

Besides, Kishi has said he won't reveal Kakashi's face because he doesn't feel that it will be as exciting as it was built up to be.

I thought this was all explained. His mask gets blown off with the rest of his clothes, but underneath his mask is another mask.

I think it would be hilarious if kakashis face was like super deformed and derp looking. But i doubt it is.
