But in the end Kakashi did kill Rin.

Indirectly, though. She did jump in front of him.

OT: Kakashi has made hard decisions. He decided on the resolve to kill the current Obito to save the past one.

And also, wasn't Kakashi shoving a Lightning Kunai through Obito's heart proof of his resolve?
Kakashi looked up to Obito as a source of inspiration for most of his life. Then it turns out Obito is the Masked Man?
Anyone would be hesitant in his position.

But in the end Kakashi did kill Rin.

He shoved it through after hesitating several times, something Obito noted and mocked Kakashi over.

At the beginning of the fight in the Kamui world fight, Kakashi could have killed Obito but stopped himself.

Kakashi wasn't aiming at Rin when he charged the chidori, Rin jumped in at the last second and took the blow meant for the Hidden Mist Ninja, while Kakashi did kill her, he wasn't trying to nor would he have done it willingly.

Aw shit, I stand corrected. Rin did jump in front of Kakashi.

But either way, Kakashi is now willing to kill Obito. In the end, he is willing to kill his inspiration.

Also, wasn't he willing to kill Sasuke, his former student? Pretty sure he was.

He hesitated many times before finally resolving, only after a last point where he actually tried to TNJ Obito did he finally find the resolve and even then he viewed it as saving the person Obito once was.

Kakashi refused to kill Sasuke for quite a while (he was the one who encouraged Naruto to go to the Raikage) and even then he only decided to do it after talking to Sai about Sakura wanting to kill Sasuke.

Also he still tried to talk Sasuke down before they started fighting and was hesitating throughout it until after Sasuke tried to kill Sakura.

Obito had a boulder crushing half his body. It was either sit there and let his sacrifice go to waste or leave. If there was a chance at saving him, Kakashi would do it. Kakashi even went to try and lift the thing before leaving. He's not as black and white in these situations as people make it seem.

But he's definitely better at these things than Naruto. I will say that...

Exactly that's my point. The OP is giving Kakashi heat because he is hesitant about killing or leaving a comrade behind for the greater good. But in the end Kakashi does just that. Hesitation for killing a friend does not make a someone incapable of making hard decisions for the greater good. Kakashi proved this in his fight with Obito. He was hesitant...at first. But in the end he handed Obito the beatdown and Obito had to leave the Kamui dimension in order to stay alive.

Oh I am not saying that's a bad trait for Kakashi, I am just saying that he isn't really a hard decisions kind of guy. Despite popular belief.

People are going oh he will make the hard decisions for the greater good and be all ends justify the means and I have no idea where people are getting that idea from.

But you need to also keep in mind that Kakashi too, is still young. He is an adult, but a young adult. Making hard decision quickly for the greater good comes with experience. Kakashi has had to make these decisions as a kid and a young adult where as someone like Tsunade, Ay, or Ooniki have decades over him and thus can make these decisions a little more level headed. It not that he is not the hard decision making kind of guy, it's that he is still young.

Remember Tsunade had to deal with this very thing when she was younger with Dan and Nawaki. She didn't do so well either back then. Regardless of his hesitation he ultimately, ends up making that hard decision.

Op is talking about a kakashi that is not a hokage not a Kakashi that is a hokage. The title comes with more responsibility. Difference is as a shinobi he would die to save a friend and fail a mission. As a hokage he has to think about the village as a whole an leaving his post to save one person in a tough situation like sasuke could send the entire village into a war. Think of the final fight between Hashirama and Madara. The village trumps everything.

If Kakashi is not the type to make hard decisions, then who is? Certainly not Naruto.
Danzo was, but he's now dead. And no one seemed to like him anyway.

Frankly, even if you think Kakashi doesn't make hard decisions often, he is still the best of the current Hokage candidates as far as hard decisions are concerned.

Decision to kill sasuke rather than burdening his students and village further. Hard choice.

While I agree that experience will make someone more willing to make hard decisions and that Kakashi is willing to make the hard decisions but only after he literally has no option in the world left, I'm just saying he isn't Danzo or Tobirama.

Heck even Minato his sensei didn't hesitate to cut down Obito once he realized Tobi was Obito (which shocked me, I thought that Minato would be even more broken then Kakashi was).

This isn't about who is a better candidate for Hokage, I don't ever once recall saying he was a bad candidate just that he isn't going to willingly make the hard decisions.

I agree. I would say sasuke would do what he think is necessary as well but the problem would lie in what was actually considered necessary. Sasuke is too much of an extremist. Kakashi is a moderate who can make the best decisions.

This isn't about who is the best Hokage candidate.

And no, Minato was a moderate and he blitzed cut down Obito (his own student) without blinking.

Kakashi hesitated several times.

Which brings me back to my original point.

If you look at what the individual I responded said, you would see that he clearly brought up hokage candidates and how he believes who would be the best. My response was in agreement to that and I added that sasuke could also make hard decisions but not necessarily better ones. The OT was a disagreement response to why people believed Kakashi would make a better hokage than other characters (because he could make hard decisions.) I just disagree with the disagreement.
