He would have defeated Deva Path if reinforcement didnt step in, he said he had a back up plan prepared and found a way to defeat him , the reinforcement arrival were an hindrance to his plan so he had to change his strategy, but he could have soloed Deva Path, not to mention the fact that Asura Path was also there

remember that kakashi has the sharingan which has the ability to analyze it's target and the kakashi is quite literally a genius with a great deal of stamina, his back up plan most likely was kamui and my guess is that he found a way to pull it off

That's debatable, at that time Kakashi did not fully analyze Deva Path's abilities. It was thanks to Chouza and Choji that he was able to figure it out. We don't know Kakshi would have been able to do that by himself or have taken down Asura Path. I think Asura Path getting in the way of that Raikiri was pretty played though, Kakashi should have won there.

I believe he can hide underground to counter Shinra Tensei + Chibaku Tensei takes a lot of time for Pain to generate, he isnt as powerful as Nagato, its not an option

His back up plan was most likely kamui, but we don't know if Nagato has a counter for it.

Possible example: Kakashi uses Kamui on deva path, deva path uses chibi tensei to pull up some gravel and block kamuo. Kakasho's trump card now countered and he's really low on chakra.

Not neccesarily, many people underestimate kakashi. remember that kakashi was using sharingan which has the ability to analyze it's target and the kakashi is quite literally a genius with a great deal of stamina, in addition to all these feats you should also remember that kakashi himself had already used quite a bit of chakra at that point and so even without help yes it would've been difficult but i believe that do to kakashi's knack for finding a way out of trouble, he would've won that battle.

it did save him some chakra but at the cost of his plan being hindered , he found a way to defeat him but they interfered.
