Hiruzen wins part 1 with mid, if not low diff. The fact that Kakashi almost pissed himself in front of Orochimaru while the Sannin sensed he needed summon the previous Kage to face an Old Hiruzen speaks for itself.
Scenario 2 I am still leaning towards Hiruzen still, but high diff, since Kakashi got a fantastic boost in stamina, what can be exploited against an old Hiruzen.

Kakashi basically can copy everything in Hiruzens arsenal bar enma, making his ranged offensive jutsus useless. When it comes to a close combat, Kakashi wins by Raikiri having superoir feats to enma and sharingan precog.

3 Tomoe Kakashi is still one of the leaf village's best Jonin in the series. He also has around the same stat total as Hiruzen, fast forwarding to the war arc. I don't know if you remember but Kakashi's main weakness in Part 1 was low chakra reserves. By the war arc he was shown to have high level chakra reserves which the old man obviously didn't posses.

I'm not trying to sound like a Kakashi fan (which I'm not), I just don't believe that a war arc Kakashi could be classified as "fodder" when being compared to the likes of a 70 year old Hiruzen.

Hiruzen also wins in senario 2, but with Mid-high diff. Hiruzen is more skilled and more tactical than kakashi, and according to the manga not only would hiruzen have counters to almost all of kakashi's jutsu, but he already has knowledge on most of his konoha based jutus.

The only thing kakashi has over hiruzen in 2nd senario is speed, and that is even highly debatable.

Well, Kakashi does have superior speed compared to the old man that's for sure. Kakashi has shown himself to be quite skilled at taijutsu I don't see how Hiruzen Sarutobi who was a hokage and had a "5" rating in the taijutsu category can be easily dismissed as being inferior. Hiruzen was also able to toss a watered down Tobirama aside like broccoli he didn't order and keep up with Hashirama in the short instance they were involved in hand to hand combat. As for tactics, the man was a hokage after all and again, bringing up stats, had a "5" rating in intelligence as well. As for konoha based jutsu I'm pretty sure it was said the Third Hokage knew every jutsu to ever come from the village as well as hidden jutsu's. Not sure if it meant if he could use all the jutsu or if he just knew of them.

Kakashi can't match Hiruzen. He's never strong enough to take on any of the first 3 Kage. Pt1 one would be a joke. And the 2nd one still is tough because Hiruzen still stoof toe to toe to two weakened but still fast and powerful Hokages. I can't see Kakashi doing the same even at his strongest.

Kakashi shown the capacity to open gates and has Sharingan. Couple that with superior speed and you'll have superior taijutsu.
