What's the starting Distance? If it's 50 Meters or closer then Kakashi gets blitzed. If not then Kakashi should have enough time to go intangible. At the end of the fight Gai is dead and Kakashi is unconscious from over using the MS.

Before DMS and 8G they were around Kage level, both, but kakashi was always considered stronger since he beats 95% of the NV with kamui. Its the most effective jutsu that kishi has shown, while Gai's abilities, while very impresive, are not that efective against people with good defence.

I'm talking about 1MS Kakashi and 7G Gai, they're both roughly on the same level but kakashi's abilities (ultra fast kamui) are a bad match up for the most of NV while Hirudora and taijutsu variants are not that haxed and OP

But 7th gate Gai is more perfect shinobi than MS Kakashi due to him not having that op defense unlike Gai whose speed serves him in both defense and offense.
Gai would put good fights against more strong people ,meaning he would counter thier whole arsenal and overwhelme them with his leaving them helpless against him , unlike kakashi whose chance would be just snipping them right off the bat like KCM Naruto .

Yes you're right, but here the important thing is not the way you do it, its if you can do it or not.

It doesn't matter if kakashi's only chance is kamui sniping while 7g gai can put up a real fight, since kakashi's dirty and boring trick would work almost every time while Gai, while putting a better fight than kakashi, won't win the same amount of times kakashi would
